We need to make lists. I'd start with the GREAT FACT (that we live 100+x better than our ancestors a couple centuries ago, and that McCloskey in Bourgeois Dignity says that it was because of the rhetorical and financial support given to bourgeois virtues and the merchant/traders in NW Europe @ 1600 and thereafter, Holland and England.
