Respond to Job as the Numbers of Exodus
We’re trying to (re)build civilization, on the solidest basis, right?
1--What I’m going to tell, 2--the telling, and 3--what I told.
1—Start with the Map of Culture in Hall’s ‘The Silent Language,’ page 191 when you search this book on Amazon, or for .01, this is a 10x10 grid of elements. (This works something like this—I don’t have any of my copies readily to hand in my Kokintz-like creative disarray—housing and war would result in military bases). Then put Dr. Jordan’s (JBJ’s) 49-book Bible from ‘Rethinking the Order of the Old Testament,’ on Biblical Horizons into a 7 x 7 grid. Across the top, the first 7 books, down the side, the first 7 books.
1a—Last week, in the 49-book Bible, with a week off for Public Vindication, a celebration of A. D. 70 and like events, we reached Job, the 4th book (Numbers, across) of the second set of 7 (Exodus, down).
1b—What does that tell us? Let’s look at what each of these books is about, and try to put the 3 into a sentence, maybe an imperative stem, or an imperative poem. (Note that Mozeson held that a ‘dance of 3 roots,’ if I recall correctly, made up most Hebrew words—it could be a word too!).
1c—Exodus is ‘beth (house; in Exodus the Tabernacle is built), Numbers is daleth (door, entrance; enter the holy land), Job is kaph (palm)’. Maybe in the house perspective, being arrayed for war is necessary to get in the door, and the hand/palm grasps it. Or maybe the second day’s firmament between heaven and earth has to do with the luminaries of the 4th day?
1d—It is much easier to see the 7th iteration of Joshua’s conquest played out in the rhetoric of Paul in Philemon. (Hat Tip, Eric Robinson).
1e—We’d need better contexts to get sentences out of this, we’d need poetry too. Perhaps Mike Bull’s CDATMCG would help. In the Division section, Job is the Testing of Numbers. Creation, Division, Ascension, Testing, Maturation, Conquest, Glorification.
1f—Does ‘Beth Daleth Kaph’ make a word?
1g—The next three books are ‘Proverbs--(lamedh (ox-goad; learn, study, teach; clearly fits Proverbs)’ and then ‘Song of Songs—mem (water)’ and then ‘Ecclesiastes – (nun (sprout, propogate flour-ish (sic) generate’. How might those fit in the Exodus tiara (modification by CHH of ‘tier) with, respectively Deuteronomy (Proverbs), Joshua (Song), and Judges (Ecclesiastes)?
2—That’s what I was going to tell. What I’m telling is that ‘Respondeo etsi mutabor’. I must respond, though I will be changed—I will respond though I must be changed. That’s Rosenstock’s motto for this age, after ‘Credo ut intelligam’—I believe in order to understand, and ‘Cogito ergo sum’—I think therefore I am.
2a—Let’s first respond with JBJ’s 3 (from one of Dr. Leithart’s books). Maturity, the holy war against the devil and his angels, and redemptive history. The latter first. We’d say that Job is ‘early days’ and part of a sequence, just as Numbers is a type downstream from the 4th of 7 days, and also Exodus is such, as a group of 7 in her tiara. In the holy war, these are ways of fighting, and we need to know what time it is to fight best, and maturity, I say, would be finding out what kind of imperative stem/imperative poetry this is, in the whole array of tools that we will have used, under GodTrinity to emerge victorious. Summationally, we have been given X (freedom from the House of Bondage/Egypt) in order to give Freedom, ultimately from sin, in Jesus.
2b—But let’s do ERH’s too. He shows that each Revolution of the West has produced at least new speech, new types of persons, new institutions. (Chapter 5 of Gardner’s ‘Beyond Belief,’ or search ‘Revolutions of the West chuckhartmanhistoryconductor’ for a summary of that sumery. Use Google’s search engine for best results.
2c-A new institution from Job? Helping people through suffering? Spread of the Pastoral Care Handbook (?) that Pastor Meyers has recommended?
2d—New types of persons? Sufferers who talk to God?
2e—New types of speech? We have some in 1, above.
3—What I’ve told. We have the ur-map of culture. We must use it.
3a—And an advantage of this above is that it will take a long time. Perhaps it could be useful as biological knowledge proliferates (irony) and Isaiah 65, especially 20, may come to pass. Thoreau’s story of a 300-year search for the perfect walking stick may apply—it was in ‘Walden’ if I remember correctly.

PS: I may be coming back to 371, or I may take the Van Buren Option. That is, in order to get ‘my stuff’ used, I might first have to do some Trinitarian mutual indwelling in economic transaction, just as the 8th President, in order to become such, first was appointed to be Ambassador to London.
PPS: The title of this is an imperative stem. We can make it into imperative poetry done.
