How Maximize Sermon Application Thru The Week

HowToMaximizeSermonApplicationThroughTheWeek

Benefits: A comprehensive study that results in a great conclusion: What to do now!
The sermon began a series on discipleship using Psalms of Ascent with Psalm 120.
Let’s take the ascension theme through the days of the week first.
BUT, these are the days of the week of the retuned firmament of creation. (1)
These days of the week are named for churches in Revelation, generally, and match up with eras of The Core History of Humanity’s Childhood, the Bible. At the end, we will psalmodically respond to each and all.

Lord’s Day –Sunday--/Whole, including Laodicea (apostasy in Jesus’ time (2)), and the total foreshadowing of all history, we get the sermon.
“Pilgrim Psalms: Deceit and Violence”
Psalm 120
1In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. 2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. 3What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue? 4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper. 5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar! 6My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. 7I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
Some themes: Sung as ascending to Jerusalem for one of the three mandatory feasts for males over 20 (thus warriors). Appeal for relief from suffering. Imprecation? Jesus did in Matthew 23, Woes match Beatitudes. Discipleship (in pastoral email announcement).
We will take Ascension, and Battle as our themes on this APAD: A Page A Day.
Monday/Sardis, Remnant and Exile. Daniel ascended to lead two empires. Tuesday/Pergamos, Wilderness. Sinai’s ascension, and ascension offering as part of sacrificial system. Wednesday/Ephesus, Garden: Adam to Abraham. Adam did not ascend. Thursday/Philadelphia, World Witness: _____. Friday/Thyatira, Kingdom: A House of Prayer for All Nations. Saturday/Smyrna, Prison: Abram to Moses—Joseph rules.
CONCLUSION: We prepare for battle. We need a SitRep (Situation Report). It is not only an individual battle, but a part of the Holy War, unto maturation, through redemptive history. What is our part, now? What is our plan, now? Discipling whom? As they ascended to battle on the Mountain of Festival Assembly, so do we. More to come.

(1) Explained here: http://chuckhartmanhistoryconductor.blogspot.com/2011/02/naming-days-in-rightimely-way-for-our.html Social firmament (Eph. 2:6) is 8531642 not 4152637. See Rev. 5:12 and 7:12 for retuning+ at Jesus Ascension. We get the gist and retune more with each ‘Day,’ such as Pentecost and A. D. 70.

  1. COMMENT: Have the members of your flock take the theme(s) of your sermon through the liturgy of the new days/churches/eras of the Bible. It will be a liturgy of comprehensiveness and it will point to action.
One is brought into the Whole YUMM!and realizes SardisYUMM!-wise that he or she must confess to being in Exile—poor in Spirit--, but is told to rise as unto Sinai in that PergamosYUMM! Wilderness. Even though in the Garden, EphesusYUMM! Adam failed to ascend, he or she is told that there is a righteousness for which to hunger and thirst. Mercifully, he or she can partake of the life of World Mission of PhiladelphiaYUMM!, and the death of the house of prayer for all nations of the Kingdom of ThyatiraYUMM!, by being a peace making son of God to those in Prison SmyrnaYUMM! as Joseph did--persecuted and blessed unto Heaven’s reward.
This conflates the eras, the churches, the days, and the Beatitudes.
Formal names: KolBmoY, SardisBmoY, PergamosBmoY, EphesusBmoY, PhiladelphiaBmoY, ThyatiraBmoY, SmyrnaBmoY. Sources for these names are in (1) above. And ‘moY’ is backwards for ‘yom,’ which is ‘day’ in Hebrew, for the past and the future cause the present, the ‘B’ of ‘house’ in Hebrew as ‘beth,’ and ‘B’ is the first letter of the book of Genesis.

  2. Now we should divide the 'kol'/whole that we get on the Lord's Day, into the history from A. D. 70 through the present--or maybe through the Great Day? That's still cooking in my soul.

The 1234567 parts of the Bible is a good start. What did it mean, 'The just shall live by faith,' in the time Adam through Abram? Abram through Moses....?

The big 'whole' after A. D. 70 came with Luther, maybe--or have there been 7, 8, 12 iterations of this in history after A. D. 70?
