The
results
were
astonishing.
In
Roseto,
virtually
no one

For

was
roughly
half that

What is ‘TO STUART’?
a.
To Stuart is to feed the hungry.
Our plan is to grow (more) gardens and share.
Todmorden, UK plants on public land.
Kotzebue, in Arctic Alaska has vegetables year ‘round—hydroponically.
b.
To Stuart is to apply then to now.
Captain Stuart founded a community to help feed growers (local farmers) along the
Big Mover then, the railroad. 1870.
By 2020, we aim to be a community
that helps food growers (other local communities) along the Big Mover now, the
internet/world wide web, to

Iowans use Supplemental Nutrition/SNAP/’food stamps’. One in 8 is food
stressed, and we are living in some of the best agricultural land in the world.
These are easily searched. A National Geographic article on Osage, Iowais at http://www.nationalgeographic.com/foodfeatures/hunger/

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and
ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw
we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when
saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say
unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.
10—With sprouting, you can have fresh food year ‘round. In
less than a week! Search YouTube, see your local (health food) store, search
Amazon. Kitchen Crop is @ $10, and a sample packet of 12 might be @ $20.
11—Our basic plan is for people to
grow (more) garden, and share the produce. 1st year, pots? Also, don’t forget
fruit trees and permaculture, and saving seeds. Heirloom beats GMO.
12—We are more network than hierarchy, and pray that churches
and others will compete to find the hungry and to feed them. We try to buy
locally. To ‘stuart,’ we pray, will come to mean that hunger is minimized by
feeding locally the community, and that the founding principles are updated.
Will there be tourists?

The Manual How To ‘Stuart’ Feed Locally Your Own Community—What
We Have Learned In Stuart IA
1—Do something. Plant a few seeds, buy a container with
cherry tomatoes already planted, see what books the library has…
2—Post on social media, or talk to people to get a group.
3—Find your Sheila—an enthusiastic go-getter—t head up the
project.
4—Find out how many school students qualify for free or
reduced-price meal. 40%+ in Stuart. Note that 1 in 8 people are food-stressed
(hungry) at some time during the year. 10%+ are in SNAP, get ‘food stamps’.
5—Become associated with a church. Ours in New Beginnings.
5—Todmorden, UK (‘carrots in the car park’) and Kotzebue,
Alaska have ways of growing vegetables. Kotzebue is in the Arctic, and have
fresh in the winter.
6—Our plan was to encourage (more) gardening and sharing.
7—Omaha’s little free food pantries are placed in yards with
free food for the taking. Plans to come.
8—Sprouting is another way to have fresh food year ‘round.
Check Amazon if your local health food store doesn’t have seeds and equipment.
9—We boost local businesses.
There are some links below that we put in this manual for free to help
the online portions of sales of local businesses.

150th. That gives us long term
perspective.

vocabulary of Christendom, that is, the vocabulary of civilization, as we try
to feed locally and minimize hunger by growing (more) garden and sharing. I
earnestly invite you, please. Love in
King Jesus. (I'm following Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy here, who said in Universal
History 1954 that the glorification of the tribes would be small, enthusiastic
groups (not on the warpath) as Israel was glorified in the church by getting
rid of exclusions, and as empires were glorified in the nation-state by getting
rid of slavery. [There's some question there about how well we did that]. It's
the next 1000 years, he said, however long that is.
Why locally? It’s part of advice
Charles gives. ‘Get Ready To Help Locally. Do your calling—the most important
thing you can do at which you would be most difficult to replace. (GKN) Pray 1

honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
He (Rosenstock) also said that we would lose the ability to
speak in America, by which he meant ‘true speech.’ Where one’s life is put

Prayerfully.
I’m also claiming that this is 5th generation warfare,
spiritually. In modern times, theorists
(Lind) say, first generation was Napoleon’s massed armies, 2nd was artillery,
third was tanks, and 4th was insurgents plus media (e. g. Viet Nam). Lind doesn’t agree that 5th generation is
separate, but it’s ‘nets and jets’—network, not hierarchy, and something to
carry biowar and nanowar quickly around the world. We’re using the internet.

Will $55,000 Do It—Feed Hungry
Stuart?
Calculating Feed Locally – How Many Pounds of Food Would It
Take?
This article says Prime Pantry food is NOT GOOD FOR YOU? https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/06/12/conservatives-drop-amazon-prime-now/#more-152373
‘Prime’s “pantry”
items are all, by definition (sorry folks, truly fresh food that is not laden
with sugars and hydrogenated oils doesn’t ship well!) high carb trash.’ I DON’T
KNOW.
Maybe this could help? https://www.facebook.com/PrimalSurvivors/photos/a.344283699092658.1073741828.337067249814303/676142099240148/?type=3&theater¬if_t=notify_me_page¬if_id=1497127010232891
Also, some soups are even cheaper!
Let’s say 400 people are food-stressed. A—1 in 8, per some articles, of 1700 = 200+.
B—40%+ of school students (West Central Valley, 800) + parents. C—15%
SNAP/’food stamps’ =300+ of 1700.
OK, 400 is a high estimate.
Does not include those needing better vitamins, which is
most of us.
Now, a Food Bank of Iowa message quoted someone that the
average person eats 1.2 pounds of food/day.
Let’s help with the .2 pounds.
.2 pounds x 400 = 80s lbs. a day.
80 x 400, to make it easy and high = 32,000 pounds a year,
or 16 tons. Easy to remember.
Now, if one could get, for comparison, 200 bushels of corn
per acre x 55 pounds a bushel, that 10,000 pounds, or 5 tons. But would it be nutritious, and would people
prepare it?
So 4 acres of corn would do it.
But one needs better food, and there’s delivery, of course.
Let’s try sprouting for the nutrition—later.
For now, how much is a pound of vegetable beef soup, with an
easy-opening pull tab? No pull tab shown, but condensed Campbell’s is $1.63 for
10.5 oz., let’s call it a pound. That’d mean 32,000 of them (can one order that
many) or about $50,000.
$50,000 this way.
Are there other ways? And there are cheaper soups, and more
variety.
YES!
To build community and to thus get more of the Roseto Effect
(fewer heart attacks, etc.) for each in the community to garden (more) and
share would be better. Also this would
help to ‘Stuart’ Stuart, that is help us to be a community helping the food
producers (residents gardening for others now, farmers then) along the Big
Mover (the internet now, the railroad then). This would encourage indoor
gardening and sprouting, container gardening, community gardens, winter
harvest, the Kotzebue Arctic hydroponic greens, etc.
How much for sprouts for all 400? Assume 400 families (older
people at Congregate Meals would probably be singles—add that to the school
totals).
It could be done more cheaply, but kitchen crops is @ $10,
and grows 4 at a time. Sample pack is @$20, 5# alfalfa @$35, 5# lentils @$20,
so 10 + 20 + 35 + 20 = $85, x400 = let’s say $5000.
So sprouting for nutrition and self-help is $5000 and
vegetable beef soup is $50,000 so for $55,000 (excluding gardening and sharing,
etc.) Does this build community, does it
do the Roseto Effect?

The 150th year celebration for
Stuart, Iowa is 2020.
We should perform this: Stuart: The
Musical.
[See link]
Here’s Why and How.
Singing about one’s life and
circumstances is valuable, and singing helps us remember
I was rattling on about this at work,
and one co-worker said something such as, ‘You wouldn’t even have to write the
music, you could just use the music from a musical, with different words.’
I thought: Oklahoma.
WE HAVE THREE YEARS. The 2017 GoodEgg
Days celebration will soon be over.
Here’s a refrain we could use, as an
illustration. At the end of the song
‘Oklahoma’ is this: ‘You’re doin’ fine Oklahoma, Oklahoma OK’.
We could have this as a refrain. (Look at the events to be celebrated in
song).
‘You’re doin’ fine Stuart Iowa!
Stuart Iowa Hooray!’
[more in Charlie’s computer,
including sample lyrics…--a key would be finding a music director]
--Things to do next
Next year, donated land cold have crops raised on it for the
Food Bank of Iowa, and we could partner more closely with them, and other
groups working toward some of our same ends, though we would want to keep our
emphasis on ‘growing (more) gardens and sharing and E.G.G.s,
Experienced.Gardening.Guides. Other social media for more outreach.
‘Have Horse, Will Plow’ could be expanded by a winter
calling campaign to get volunteer residents to plant gardens in their yards.
Perhaps we could partner with chapters of ‘Food Not Lawns’ or ‘Grow Food Not
Lawns’
The local business selling on the internet could be expanded.
Remember the Fred Couples quote; “I have as much game as anybody’. It applies to websites.
There are reports that ‘powers that be’ have made it illegal
to feed the homeless, or to grow gardens on lawns, or to have fruit orchards—we
need to be sure that doesn’t happen to us by working closely as Todmorden and
Kotzebue evidently have done.
Jay Abraham, the great marketer, surely has something
valuable to teach us, and he’s giving away a lot of great material, ’50 Shades
of Jay’.
Add to the soup cans powdered food?
Also, work more closely with rescuers of wasted food.
Check out the tribe that lived on acorns, and apply some
lessons to corn?
Find some actual hungry ones to interview, to get more
in-depth knowledge
The little free food pantries could be expanded, and further
investigated. What foods? How kept filled? How much money?
Various ‘prepper’ business and groups could be asked about
‘community’—not just individual and family—preparations that could be adapted
to our non-catastrophic ‘feed the hungry’ idea.
Expand the trees and permaculture and indoor gardening and
