Africans: Options--Boniface Paul Carmen
There has been discussion of the merits of the Paul Option
(preach the Gospel), the Boniface Option (cut down the Oaks of Thor [opposing
idolatries] and build a church from the lumber), and now the Carmen Option (Christians
are notes in the music of culture).
Thus, we opera-te Christendom.
Dr. Leithart’s words in the ‘Chords’ section of ‘Traces of
the Trinity’ inspired this.
And here’s the neat thing: The rests, the silences are as
important as the sounds.
They are part of the music, the rhythm..
‘Rest’-ing on the Sabbath is a key of the whole music, the
Carmen Humanem, the omnipotence of GodTrinity, the Creator/Creature
distinction. Add instruments, add daily and other rests. Other religions are
brothers and sisters in these rests.
Psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, Hebrew Cadence—all carry
glorified speech with instruments—all port in importantly.
For God Trinity lovingly drags one into His future, and as
we are torn in the present between the past and the future, our howls become
music, and we the Singing Song—the hero is the one between times, the
protagonist, the first Sufferer, helping explicitly reconcile opposites in
necessary exigencies.
So, Yes preach the Gospel, in all informations—scratchings
and hieroglyphics (tattoos on the Temple Body), alphabets, printing presses,
mass media, and Gurri’s Fifth Wave and using persons of peace, discovery
sessions, and a million baptized as one social medium. Also destroy the idols
who dissipate on their own—they cannot Kennan stand. But march to the music we
are given to be, Carmen.
