Starfish Economy

Here's a new term. Starfish economy, technological Amish. That is, we stay in the big network while it works, but are able to rebuild from a well-rounded base if things fall apart, just as a starfish can regrow body parts. A fellow has something out that allows you to make the 50 basic machines, for instance.
