Thus, Newton's worldview was shattered by the apple, then he knew he didn't know, but could know, so he heard the readings/read what others had researched, proposed a hypothesis (sermon) which was then tested in two ways (if unworthy, it would 'die', and then blessed 'ite, missa est'.
