Toward Total Bible
Saturation Community Unto Peace
Summary:
[Note: The margins appear to be cut off, but when you copy and paste, they return]
You gotta have heart, and
community, and show Jesus:
Tripp—‘Dangerous Calling’
Each
participating member has one of the 49 books of the Bible through which to see
the sermon, and from that to write a
SHORT report.
Using the
sermon and the member’s respective book, the member suggests applications of
this wisdom to dominion mandate actions on the outside.
The member
also suggests how this wisdom can build community.
--
Is this ‘too hard!’? Consider Stark’s ‘Churching of America’: p. 238
'…religious organizations are stronger to the degree that they impose
significant costs in terms of sacrifice and even stigma on their members. ...'
And on page 5 they wrote something such as
this: Those churches that provide theological comfort and motivate to sacrifice
do better.
Let’s start, and let’s
think long term.

Tripp—‘Dangerous Calling’
So, it’s simple. Listen to the sermon, maybe take notes.
Discuss it. The write up a few hundred
words. People speechify at about 160 words per minute. Called and ordained
servants of the word (Session, Deacons, Pastor, Elders…) will suggest good book
commentaries on each book, and most Bible have summaries and outlines.
So, write a couple hundred words, and then
find how ‘your’ book has similar themes, is one from which the text(s) preached
on is/are derived, is shaped by those texts, etc.
Email it to the coordinator, who may or may
not comment and or edit, so that the church has a 20-30 page ‘book,’ or a
longer one if reports and applications are longer than half a page each.
This can be used to show others what we
do. These others can be in the physical
community, or online, or they might read one of the eBooks made from this.
Thus we achieve total Bible saturation, over
the years.
How great it will be for a youngster to be
promoted to first chair of the book of Samuel!?
[Fathers and mothers can and will and should
help with the reports, writing and reading.]

Example: Jeremiah Hartman picks this because JBJ said
it’s ‘Jeremiah Time,’
and because Bullinger says there are 51 prophecies in
Jeremiah.
These would fit well into the 49-book grid of 7x7, which
Hartman uses for other
Peace Tribe activities, as a
Calendar.Engendering.Peace.Tactics (c.e.p.t.)’
I will summarize the sermon and view it through both the
total message of Jeremiah, specific parts of Jeremiah, and the prophecy that
fits in this week.
[December 9 is not an ‘ordinary week, but part of a
holidayweek, so I will start on
December 16]

Summary of Sermon, a couple hundred words.
Alas, Chuck missed the sermon. A wonderful thing happens with a close relative of Chuck, in that this close relative is so washed in the environment of worship that this close relative is uplifted, it seems, even though this close relative remembers little about the sermons. This will be related below to Chuck’s instrument in the Toby SayCoe orchestra. The general facts are that Athaliah tried to kill off the line of David, from which the Messiah would come, but barely failed, due to faithful ones in Judah. More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athaliah
Application to outside (Dominion Mandate), to changed actions, to church community of total Bible saturation. Faithful ones can do ONE THING, that is, preserve the seed line (Hebrew Scriptures), and/or they can be ‘in the flow’ of history, in the environment, in ways not articulated as others might do, and yet be faithful. This brings to mind the kind of unconscious knowledge portrayed in ‘Blink’. Example: A statue had been bought by a museum. It had all scientific tests, and provenance too. But 3 experts brought in later, all had reactions—non-verbal—that showed it was a fake. One got sick, another saw in his mind a glass wall between the statue and him, and a third blurted out: ‘I hope you haven’t paid any money for that!’. There are things known that are not articulated until the right time, and that are ‘told’ in different way. To apply this to a close relative of Chuck, we can say that liturgy trains the muscle memory of the Body of Christ, and each person therein. Or, as Yogi Berra said, ‘You can’t think and hit at the same time’.
And Jeremiah is similar in that it is not chronological. Different structures are seen by different exegetes, and Harrison (Jeremiah and Lamentations) uses various reading from various languages to explain the text, indicating that the text itself is unsettled—BUT THE GENERAL MILIEU OF JEREMIAH IS WELL KNOWN. DESTRUCTIVE JUDGMENT AND EXILE ARE COMING BECAUSE OF BREAKING THE COVENANT. Chuck’s relative gets the gist of the worship, and so too should we get the gist of the book of Jeremiah, though we are not as articulate as some. AND THOSE TO WHOM WE WITNESS, AND WHOM ARE DISCIPLED—MANY ARE SIMILAR. RESPECT THAT, AS WE CANVASS (HOORAY!!)WE ARE ALL IN THE IMAGE OF GOD WITH UNIQUITIES.
Note: Jeremiah 35 the ‘prophecy (Bullinger), :39:15. Harrison? That’s for later essays.
Also, Chuck’s Calendar Of Peace (HOST) aims to ‘prime’ all, as also shown in ‘Blink’.
