Self-Congratulation As Social Policy-Sowell
This is in his 'Conflict of Vision'
It's why I go out of my way to find people who do NOT agree with me.
He gives 3 examples of programs that had the opposite effect.
War on Poverty created more poverty, sex education created more teen pregnancies and STDs, and anti-crime created more crime.
But, but...'they' had excuses. 'They' would not give up their vision, their ideology.
Thus, our task is to articulate a better vision.
(This has happened with 'free-market' thinkers' influence IN OTHER COUNTRIES.
