Start here: What are the 6 most important events in the past 40 years, and the 7 dothisnow (yes, a new word!) actions to take? Also, what 4 questions would you ask? Of the 6, number one is the rate of technological change, which breaks up old groupings, I'd say. I'll work through this year toward a better understanding.
