How To End Bad Wars

Want to end bad wars? Fight the good war. Disciple the nations under the Prince of Peace.
When the church does not fight the good war, the fighting impulse is perverted into bad wars. When the church mishandles money, and does not teach members how to handle money Biblicaly, we are given civil governments that mishandle money. When the church does not believe, teach, confess, and act according to the Biblical standards of marriage, neither, then does the civil society.

A wise one has said: Sung liturgy (CH: You sing to those you love), the same prayers every week, chant the war songs of the Prince of Peace.

A story, if you please.

When Rome fell, what kept the perpetually-raiding tribes apart.

Forests.

But hermits moved in, then monasteries cleared the land, and then peasants sharecropped.

No forests, prosperous farms to raid, what would be the next level of war prevention?

'No fighting from Saturday to Monday.' 'No fighting during Lent.' No killing clericals'.

It took hundreds of years, it took the science of growing that the monasteries knew, it took the wealth of the monasteries, and power. It took excommunication, I'm sure. It took civil penalties.

The Truce of God took mutual oath-taking.

And then this mutual oath-taking, in the 12th C., was used for founding cities and guilds.

That's their story.

We have a more difficult story to write.

Why?

Because we have 5th generation warfare as the tribes, for one. 1st generation was massed armies in Napoleon's time. 2nd, artillery. 3rd, maneuver (tanks, etc.). 4th, insurgents with press (Viet Cong). 5th, nets and jets. That is, instead of a hierarchy, there's a network. And any one can take biowar (smallpox) or/and nanowar, etc. around the world by jet.

Rome has been the nation state/forest. That doesn't work as well anymore against 5th generation neo-tribes.

What hermits have gone in to start turning the barrier, the boundary into the source of the wisdom with enforceable imperative that engendered the Truce of God?

Who are the monks clearing the land and renting it, with consulting services such as when to plant?

Who can say 'No fighting at certain times of a calendar'?

Who has the wealth and the power and the excommunication from something? Dare I say, who has the release from purgatory?

All these analogies -- can they be built up more maturely in our Holy War, in our redemptive history.

That's the story to write. Give me some words.

Seeking A More Detailed Battle Briefing

I seek a more detailed Battle Briefing. I think one can also see liturgy as a battle briefing, and commissioning as more detailed than The Great Commission--more detailed in that it applies to one’s own church’s situation, sitz im krieg (situation in war).

When we combine the messages of Crisis, Opportunity and the Christian Future, Who Rules the Land?, and the last part of Through New Eyes, we get a good overall view of the general Holy War. Add Maturity and Redemptive History and we have an even fuller picture.

We are past the point where we wonder, should we die for Gdansk, the Free City of Danzig, if I am not mistaken.

Churchill's strategy (and what would ours be?) is to rally the planes for the Battle of Britain, to be glad if/as/when Hitler invades Russia, to angle to get even more help --unto entrance into the war -- from America (Pearl Harbor, et al).

Who has elaborated in a more detailed way the fronts. What is our equivalent to Hitler's Americans, to radar for the Battle of Britain, to the enemy fighting amongst themselves, etc?

We know the liturgical answers, as you have limned them the other day--sung liturgy, etc.--. or do we?

We know it's a long slog.

We know the importance of some things (6-day creation...) and the unimportance of others (concentrating on Western Civilization, the Constitution, the PCA).

I would appreciate further elucidation and articulation along these lines. What about the university/education, what about business, what about tribal elements, what more should be emphasized about the church. What time frames are we looking at? Etc.

I have not burdened this series of questions with too much detail, I pray, hoping that you might furnish more, and/or point me to certain people and resources.

For peace, we need a next layer of social order.

Here's a start.

First some short background. After Rome fell, the forests kept the perpetually raiding/warring tribes apart. Then came the hermits, and then the monasteries who cleared the land, and sharecropped it out, but the problem became that the boundary (incarnate horizon ?) was too permeable, and a new one was needed, and so came things like the Truce of God which also were models for formation of cities and guilds. No killing pilgrims, no fighting Saturday-Monday, no fighting during Lent...

(ERH, Berman).

Our story is similar. We enter a neo-tribal time. Nets and Jets, 5th generation war, etc.

In a word, small groups can destroy unprecedentally. We have the advantage, 5th Word-wise, that our small groups have built PRECEDENTALLY.

I have whole massive tomes (tones! bequeath, if you know what I mean)to articulate.

I'll do it in the 4 unto 5 way of JBJ (law-Lyric-Evaluation-Fact) and ERH (imperative, subjective, narrative, objective). Best read is Chapter 5 of Gardner's Beyond Belief where he limns the national revolutions of the West.

Anyway, #4 as It came to me is a calendar, rhyming. A shaping liturgy that might make a resonant field that could replace the failing institutions now--Creveld, Barzun.

It starts with JBJ's 49-book Bible. Of course I retune it.

Then on this is rhymed/rhythmed at least 30 things--Elder Roorda has an email I sent that is the only remnant, except in my head, for 'C' did not protect my crash as we did Opus 22.

I write this 49/jubilee on the year, Resurrection to resurrection (exodos (sic) to Exodus--the booksheba) and this weeksheba/7oath is Proverbs in the Mo'ed/Season of 'Blessed are the Pure in Heart, and Woe of Matt 23:25-26).

Here we would at least run the sermon topic (suffering) through the days as they relate to the 7 eras of the 7, yea 8 churches--and a bunch of other rhymes.

Then we take this out typologically in service, unto comprehensive beauty (dressing the Garden) toward New Song as chiastic glorification of exnihilation.

More to come, this is definition by extension.

Using 5 Cs. Call into new situation--Newton and apple. Cleanse: --Newton: I don't know how it works, but it can be found out. Consecrate: Look at books of nature and previous publications. Commune: Test the hypothesis in at least 2 ways. Commission: Take the theory out. As ERH has said, science is THAT ARM OF THE CHURCH that is allowed to investigate to find out how much can be learned by treating the universe as dead. Also, once The One True God was established over 'gods' of sea, and lightning, and wind, etc., then we could investigate creation and not have to charm or placate such as Thor, or Poseidon, etc. Everything is covenantal. Oriented toward heavens above, liturgy. Toward the waters under the earth, scientific method. Toward the earth beneath (people made of dust), the symphony of peace. A BRIEF explanation of the art form of the next era. Great for evangelism and discipleship.

Wouldn’t it be great if …we could have more emphasis in worship on how to battle better--that is, if worship formed us up, and shaped us, as does band practice, athletic practice, sales training, boot camp?

Here’s how to get that.
First some English, later some Symbol.

Tom Woods (yes, the ‘Meltdown’ guy) writes in ‘How the Roman Catholic Church Built Western Civilization,’ p. 112:

‘…Cathedrals in Bologna, Florence, Paris, and Rome were designed in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries to function as world-class solar observatories. … Each such cathedral contained holes through which sunlight could enter and time lines (or meridian lines) on the floor. It was by observing the path traced out by the sunlight on these lines that researchers could obtain accurate measurements of time and predict equinoxes. (They could also make accurate calculations of the proper dates for Easter—the key initial function of these observatories). …’

Let’s work with this.

Implications.

1—There is a Battle Formation Two. It’s retuned and flipped to show our more mature situation. Ideally, both would be used together.

2—Since most are seated in church now, we resonate more with Ephesians 2:6, ‘…seated with Him in the heavenlies…, and we are lights, as several places tell us, such as the one that says ‘…Let your light so shine…’.

3—What I am saying is that in one milieu it made sense to study nature by using a church as an astronomical observatory, but that it is more mature to add a layer in which we church members are the light. We do not only study other light, we radiate light. And as this light is shaped, one anothering, under shepherds, we are trained for shining as warriors of light also, outside.

4—How so? Here’s one way, a start. The back of each chair could be labeled with the appropriate book in the above formation. The congregation, part of her, would be ‘formed up’ in battle array, such that one person sat in each of the 49 chairs. That person would be that book, that book’s light, light. (Adjust for congregation size, etc.)

5—A first application might be to the sermon within the liturgical context. How does Kings relate to the sermon subject, how does First John…? Potentially, each chair would write something about the relations and one another each of the others with it.

6—A second application might be to use Elder Roorda’s HAAG, the best articulation version so far of Lectionary Historical. In History At A Glance, the Ussher-Jordan time from Creation to A. D. 70 is placed within a 7x7 grid, each grid being of the size of approximately 9x9 years, 81 years. (Extra years are used at the end and the beginning). Thus, Genesis fits with section 1, the first 81 years (plus extras).

7--It would be better, however, to use the whole number of years until now for one grid. It would have approximately 121 years per section, and as a congregation got more used to this way, the future should be added. A first suggestion would be to have 242 years per section. (One could well use the 16 billion years, by stacking 49ths, starting with @ 320 million years per section of 7x7 grid, and getting down to about a minute for the whole grid. Using a future grid also, one would be able then to begin to ‘read’/’hear’/’sense’ the Rosetta Stone of Time, that is, the language, respectively, of the past, and of the present, and of the future, each of which is different and all of which say the same thing, like the Rosetta Stone. I’ll post on that.

PS: It is too weird to think that Jeremiah-Lamentations may be the Leviticus of Leviticus. That is, can the heptamerous chiasm of the first 7 days be seen in some type of iteration going down the grid? And can Samual-Ecclesiastes be seen as an ‘Exodus’/Second Day’ iteration of this heptamerous catechism. That would be a jewel! One would need a prismator. A lensman, Doc, for a shepherd.

Redeemer Hour

o Basic idea. Need $200,000 to buy church building. Find someone to buy 20,000 Redeemer (name of church) hours @ $10/hour--maybe they'll need 25,000 to compensate for the risk, and administration. [Also, some hours are worth more than $10, some less. A computer guy, maybe 2 Redeemer hours per hour of work, a leaf-raker, maybe .75 per hour of work]. The members of the church would pledge a certain number of hours, say 5 a week (Saturdays?). So, to get to 25,000 hours, @ 50 weeks a year, 5 hours a week, that would be 250 divided into 25,000, or 100 member/years. That is 100 members x 5 hours a week, x 50 weeks, would equal the 25,000 hours.
o My math may be off. The principle makes sense to me. Could circulate in community as alternative currency, see Time Banks and Labor Exchanges.

Could use this to get people into the narrative of God’s history, that is, who will help with this and see that it is a good idea and manifestation of Biblical principles?

This is valuable for some, and should be more valuable for many and we follow Weber's dynamic of 1--Charismatic leader, 2--What would the leader do, 3--Rationalization, 4--Substantial rationalization.

Surprisingly Good Result From Celebrating Circumcision

How To Make Your Communities Better is a result of a decision made 5 years ago on circumcision day to show what was done to my mother in the guise of ‘care’.*

The idea was to contrast the ‘care’ to the ‘Guilt, Grace, Gratitude’ of the heart of Pella, the Heidelberg Catechism. ‘Go Forth+’ was added as the 4th side of the square.

Here are the events, starting at the southwest corner, and going east, then north, then west, then south. Join, Nuremberg, St. Wjlesa (Sometimes We Just Le ‘Em Slip Away’), ‘Ethics,’ Circumcision, Doctors’ Strike, Girardean Funeral.

Each year since the first 2006, I have had a guest speaker at the conferences. The conferences are at the latter date of 80 days inclusive after Pascha/Easter/Resurrection Celebrated, and July 4. These have included Dr. Stockman of Ibsen’s ‘An Enemy of the People,’ Rene Girard, ‘Heart of Darkness,’ Thomas Szasz (‘Ceremonial Chemistry’) and one other I don’t remember—it’s in my documents somewhere.

The first date in MaeDay80 is the confessional and cutting circumnavigation of the square. It’s a tattoo, it’s a zero, it’s a fish, it’s a stitch—it’s in Symbol, the Language.

BUT THE KEY THING IS THIS: In doing this, I have added, protagonistically, first-suffering-wise, the following: Rescue Team, Cure Team, Godfathers for Eldsters (search), the Tennessee Declaration of Mental Health Treatment that an M.D. of stature says he will honor in my patient file, and more.

These should help those who come after also, for with these there are several centers of help available.

Consider: Dead metals, dead saints (indulgences), dead Presidents. 'My life for yours,' some say in the Lord's Supper. Etc. 'Love makes the world go 'round,' and 'Greater love hath no man....'. And He was raised for our justification, so that when we lose our respective lives, we save them.

One Example: Pella, Iowa—We’ll apply this to others later.

We write her history around the square, as the first layer.

From 2011 go south from northwest corner

Something was wrong in Holland, so Domine (Reverend) Scholte and about 800 people came to America, to Pella (‘Pella’ means ‘refuge’—they sought refuge). They enjoyed life, and built a community for about 100 years—this building and enjoying continues.

In 1922, this history was written to be shared. In 1936 it becan to be shared in a yearly community celebration, Tulip Time. Many visitors come. Tourist come at all times of the year to see Pella, the Historical Village, etc.

Now, in A. D. 2011, we ask this question:
How can this refuge be given to others?

We are in an age of increasing technological benefits, but, as Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy said, any new technology increase the space over which we can operate, decreases the time it takes, but destroys the old community. [Fear not, as travel went from ships and covered wagons, to railroads, and cars, we have lived through that change.]

We see three more Christian principles at work here in How To Make Your Communities Better.
1—The consummation is greater than the creation. That is, as Pella moves along her covenant history, there are greater things.
2—As great Providential gifts are given, we are to give. Pella was given refuge, she should give refuge.
3—We are to become more and more what we are. Personally, a unique image of GodTrinity, with talents to be used. For Pella, she become more and more her name: Refuge.

Take two of them. THEOS and the first 4, 5 words, commandment.

If coming to Pella 1847 is both obeying a Transcendant God and setting up a new Hierarchy (America, not Holland), then living Ethically until 1922 (and continuing) would be next, but what does one do with ‘Oaths and Sanctions’ as the next side of the square?

One goes to the word/commandment about the Sabbath, and realizes that its admonition to give rest fits in with the sharing of Tulip Time and Souvenir History of Pella, so that the Oath part is seen to be more Sanctions—that one should give rest somehow.

One also sees an implication of getting out and coming to the new land, the Transcendant Hierarchy, and of Ethically living there. This implication is that one should give rest, share, or be sanctioned?

As these sequences are piled up more and more, we learn more and more about them individually, in part, totally, and in whole.

I use posted verses to print off and give to some co-workers who have requested things such as 'a verse a day'.

‘moY’ is the Hebrew for ‘day,’ coming at us from the future, the Great Day.
I use exclamation ponts to indicate an imperative, and an enthusiasm.
YMMM! Is a pun for ‘day’ and ‘eat’. We eat time, we take it in.

Sunday, Monday, etc. are named for ‘planets’ in the sky. The new names are for things in the social sky, firmament.

The key things in this calendar are:
Covenant structure written on the ‘year’: Celebration Of Resurrection Anno Mundi (‘face,’ or ‘presence’ in Latin= ‘coram’)
Rhyming—lots of things in one system.
Days retuned and renamed.
Weeks named.
Seasons named after Beatitudes and Woes.
Years named, and numbered since Creation (I have a 16 billion year model)
Starts at Pascha/Easter, and moves to the celebrator’s ‘exodus’
This is another layer of social order, for educational calendars are after Greece, church calendars are after Israel, work and business calendars are after Empires, and community calendars are after Tribes.

This is another layer, not to replace everything else.

Show me a man’s schedule, and I’ll tell you who he is. Show me a society’s calendars, and I’ll tell you who she is.
All religions manifest their beliefs in a calendar: Rosenstock-Huessy.

The Bible In A Year? Get The Rhythm

Marketing: A bite at a time.

On an internet (sic) forum, it was asked how one could best do The Bible In A Year. Which program(s) work best? The idea was to read through some of the Bible each day.

I resoponded:

1 of 2) 15 minutes a day. One of the recorded Bible folks said that by listening 15 minutes a day, one could listen through the whole Bible in a year iirc.

2 of 2) To get the rhythm of the Bible, use JBJ's Garden-Prison-Wilderness-Kingdom, etc. division of the Bible from 'Crisis, Opportunity...'. Have a form that lists the key ponts (sic), bridges in your sermon--bridges to action. Then have them see how on Sunday, these are seen, foreshadowed, resonate in Garden, on Monday Prison, on Tuesday Wilderness, etc.

On Saturday they would do Communion with God (or Apostasy in Jesus' Time, if using A Brief Readers Guide) and add Church-Christian State-University-and What Next? so as to prepare for going about doing good.

The key is not study, so much as it is maturing so as to go out with timing in redemptive history so as to effectively wage Holy War. Study is preparatory to participation, to being, to doing.

The Symphony of Peace/History
[We compose, do, be, sing the New Song, recapitulating proleptically – the past and anticipation of the future.]
Each person has a talent to contribute, a pressing need. To these two we add a Jordan historical situation, person, Bible verse, etc. and then given all the persons, callings, verses – all working together – each is, respectively assigned a Day, from 1 to 8 (Resurrection) and each week a Day (with calling, person, jordan) is added to make 12 at the end. 9, Ascension, 10, Pentecost, 11, A. D. 70, 12 anticipates The Great Day.
General Pattern: We learn to truly speak in our calling by speaking as GodTrinity spoke in the Bible, one anothering, under Conductor, which conducting we learn also.

1 Law to 2 Lyric. 3 Lyric to 4 Evaluation. 5 Evaluation to 6 Fact.
7 Fact to 8 New Law. (Also Torah, Wisdom, Prophecy, Gospel; Imperative, Subjective, Narrative, Objective; Ox, Lion, Eagle, Man…)

Each even week is for initiations and introducing new Day. Week 1, Day 9 (Ascension): Week 3, Day 10 (Pentecost); Week 5, Day 11 (A. D. 70); Week 7, Day 12 (The Great Day of Final Judgment).

How To Make Your Communities Better

One Example: Pella, Iowa—We’ll apply this to others later.

We write her history around the square, as the first layer.

From 2011 go south from northwest corner

Then we add the second layer, the Heidelberg Catechism’s summation: Guilt, Grace, Gratitude, and GoForth+ (the latter, Jeff Harlow)

Let us sum up the first two squares.

Something was wrong in Holland, so Domine (Reverend) Scholte and about 800 people came to America, to Pella (‘Pella’ means ‘refuge’—they sought refuge). To 1847. ‘Pella was founded in 1847 when eight hundred Dutch immigrants led by Dominee (Minister) Hendrik (Henry) P. Scholte settled the area.’http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pella,_Iowa

They enjoyed life, and built a community for about 100 years—this building and enjoying continues.

In 1922, this history was written to be shared. In 1936 it becan to be shared in a yearly community celebration, Tulip Time. Many visitors come. Tourist come at all times of the year to see Pella, the Historical Village, etc.

Now, in A. D. 2011, we ask this question:
How can this refuge be given to others?

We are in an age of increasing technological benefits, but, as Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy said, any new technology increase the space over which we can operate, decreases the time it takes, but destroys the old community. [Fear not, as travel went from ships and covered wagons, to railroads, and cars, we have lived through that change.]

We see three more Christian principles at work here in How To Make Your Communities Better.
1—The consummation is greater than the creation. That is, as Pella moves along her covenant history, there are greater things.
2—As great Providential gifts are given, we are to give. Pella was given refuge, she should give refuge.
3—We are to become more and more what we are. Personally, a unique image of GodTrinity, with talents to be used. For Pella, she become more and more her name: Refuge.

Christ the Redeemer uses 5 Cs. Call, Cleanse, Consecrate, Commune, Commission. I, Chuck Hartman (website), have put Call and Cleanse together as ridding of guilt, until 1847. Consecrate (the sermon) would be living out the Word from 1922, and continuing. Communion (sharing) begins in 1922 with Souvenir History of Pella (a936, Tulip time).
We are now at the Commissioning stage, how to give refuge, greater than receiving it.
[In Sunday Adelaja’s ‘Church Shift, pages 135-6, he tells how he asks for a show of hands of those who have a project or a talent that they want to use to ‘go about doing good’. He puts hand-raisers into committee(s), to draw up plans and manuals, and had them test it out on a small scale before rolling it out completely.
His church has 2000 (two thousand) of these groups as of late summer 2011.]

Jordan’s short ‘Crisis, Opportunity, and the Christian Future’ uses Law, Lyric, Evaluation, Fact as the sequence. His ‘Covenant Sequence in Leviticus and Deuteronomy’ has a 12-stage sequence, ending in the new song of the covenant.

An example of how rhyming covenant sequences helps.

Take two of them. THEOS and the first 4, 5 words, commandment.

If coming to Pella 1847 is both obeying a Transcendant God and setting up a new Hierarchy (America, not Holland), then living Ethically until 1922 (and continuing) would be next, but what does one do with ‘Oaths and Sanctions’ as the next side of the square?

One goes to the word/commandment about the Sabbath, and realizes that its admonition to give rest fits in with the sharing of Tulip Time and Souvenir History of Pella, so that the Oath part is seen to be more Sanctions—that one should give rest somehow.

One also sees an implication of getting out and coming to the new land, the Transcendant Hierarchy, and of Ethically living there. This implication is that one should give rest, share, or be sanctioned?

As these sequences are piled up more and more, we learn more and more about them individually, in part, totally, and in whole.

Add the genesis and early history of this as a dealing with the trauma of Mom.

The first thing to do –it’s VERY simple -- is described at the end. Call it the seed of the seed of peace, for we are trying to help organize the conducting of a next layer of social order in history. All social orders remain, glorified, in calendars. Yesterday I wrote about marketing A Next layer of Social Order in History Toward Peace.

As I thought about it during the say a Simpler and Easier strategy came to me. It’s based on a pattern that has worked before.

Rosenstock-Huessy tells of the example in history of Hermit, Monastery, Landlord/Knowledge/Truce of God.

We will emulate it. This will 'tame' the perpetual warfare of the tribe, I pray.

THE BIG PICTURE. In sophomoric terms (for this was probably in about a sophomore class at Dartmouth, after the Roman Empire fell, the raiding tribes were kept apart by forests. Then hermits moved into the forests, and land-clearing monasteries followed, and onto the cleared land came share-cropping peasants who depended on the planting, etc. knowledge of the rich now monastery landlords, but this cleared land allowed the tribes to raid again, but the monasteries had sufficient wisdom, etc. to become a glorified forest for peace-keeping by saying and enforcing (proxies?) 'No fighting during Lent,' 'No fighting from Saturday night through Monday morning,' etc. And the Peace Movement of the 12th C., mentioned above, unto oath-covananted cities, plus. Page 90 of Berman’s ‘Law and Revolution,’ almost all free online at Google Books.

WHAT HAS KEPT THE PEACE IS THE NATION-STATE. IT IS LIKE THE FOREST, BUT VIOLENCE IS COMING TOO MUCH INTO THE FOREST.WE NEED A NEW LAYER.

I am the hermit (my work is based on ERH and JBJ, and many others SF-ly, e. g.), and a few will be a group, not celibate and poverty-chastity-obedience, but in the sequential place-time of monasteries, and wisdom and wealth may come, and then the speaking and oathing of peace.

What’s in it for you? All revolutions start with an imperative. The Peace Revolution now has this rhyming imperative. Peace is the explicit reconciliation of opposites, and a time that features neo-tribalism must deal with the perpetual warfare of the tribes. This is rhyming. This brief note will be expanded and illustrated.

Here is Rosenstock-Huessy with an inspiring writing on this:

"The history of the human race is written on a single theme: How does love become stronger than death? The composition is recomposed in each generation by those whose love overcomes murdering or dying. So history becomes a great song, Augustine's Carmen Humanum. As often as the lines rhyme, love has once again become stronger than death. This rhyming, this connecting, is men's function on earth. Who says? Chuck Hartman History Conductor. Administering certain aspects of this, as a conductor on a train. Keeping an orchestra to the written score, as a symphony conductor—making beautiful music. Conducting history to the present and future, as the electricity of the death of a great man, which releases great power into the field of time. Watch this space, read these writings.

1—We start our revolution with an imperative. One is freest when one does what one must do. This seems odd, but it is similar to gaining one’s life by losing it, and losing one’s life by gaining it. Later I will trace the imperatives of the past revolutions—great changes. The Papal Revolution, the German, the English, the American and French, the Russian.

Great power to destroy is in the hands of very few. That is one challenge for the Peace Revolution. Another is neo-tribalism, and the perpetual warfare of the tribes.

Rosenstock-Huessy said that we must glorify the Tribal social order, eliminating the perpetual warfare. He thought we had glorified the Empire social order with the nation-state, and eliminated the slaver of the Empires. He thought that we had glorified Israel with the Church, and eliminated the exclusiveness. All these glorifications were on the basis of He WhoReversed The Trend, Jesus Christ.

James Jordan, in ‘Crisis, Opportunity, and the Christian Future,’ says that this is the most exciting time to be alive since the first century, for the church started as a tribe in the Roman Empire, and then the Empire fell and the Church rose, it became King and Priest side by side. And now, nations have become more tribal, and the Church has native churches in every land. Jordan uses the organizing principle of successive emphases on the Father, and then the Son, and then the Holy Ghost/Spirit. He also uses Law for Imperative, Lyric for Subjective, Evaluation for Narrative, and Fact for Objective. (One could use the faces of the cherubim: Bull, Lion. Eagle, Man. Also Priest, King, Prophet, Man. There are many such. Jordan and ERH have it the best.

At the same time, every 700years of so, Jordan writes, a new institution arises. Church, Christian State, University.

We don’t know what will arise next, he writes in ‘Through New Eyes.’ And we are called to faithful worship and work and family.

2—The next part of a revolution, a great change, is subjective response.

(Yes, I hold that this is a type of liturgy of history. We are brought in, are cleansed by confession of sins and authoritative forgiveness, are consecrated—set apart—by words in a sermon, we are communed by the sign of the Lord’s Supper, and we are commissioned/sent out.)

My subjective response is “How To Make Your Communities Better’. We trace the history of one community, with her basic confession/catechism, and at the end, we come to her re-commissioning.

3—Narrative is next, writes Rosenstock-Huessy.

All these are best seen in two parts of Clint Gardner’s ‘Beyond Belief’. Chapter 5 limns the (mostly national) revolutions of the West. It traces each one’s Imperative, Subjective, Narrative, and Objective phases, and what is featured in each. Secondly, Clint Gardner illustrates ‘the complete cross of reality,’ near the end of the book.

I propose The Symphony of Peace/History (‘Fruit of Lips’: ERH) for this narrative part. It attempts by participation to proleptically recapitulate all of history, unto the New Song. This is incompletely on YouTube. See the 6 minute explanation with Sarah Roorda and Doug Roorda. There is also the Opus 22 attempt. Opus 3, much simpler, is available in audio and transcript, with notes. Opus 3 was after Jordan’s Exodus audios, Opus 22 is after Jordan’s Revelation audios.

TSOH is the art form of a next era. We will be in many eras at the same time, see calendar, below.

4—The Objective is a new calendar for this ‘a next layer of social order in history’. It rhymes at least 30 covenant sequences. The Days of Creation are a covenant sequence, so are the Ten Words (and especially the first 5). In ‘Covenant Sequence in Leviticus and Deuteronomy’ Jordan shows us a 12-part covenant sequence. Etc.

Every religion enshrines (ERH—I’d say ‘manifests’) her truths in a calendar.

Show me a man’s schedule, and I’ll tell you who he is. Show me a society’s calendar, and I’ll tell you what the society is.

I’ll have the calendar for this year and next year complete…soon. It only takes time! The formula is done.

We name the days for the social firmament/lights in Ephesians 2:6. We don’t use months/moon times. Seasons are Beatitudinal. The year is a Celebration Of Resurrection Anno Mundi, and starts at Resurrection/Pascha/Easter. We have Psalm O Day, etc. It disciplines us. We use a Rosetta Stone approach, marking time in both/many calendars.

As the Tribal era is retained in community celebration holidays, and as the Empire in business and work schedules, and as Israel is retained in church calendars, and Greece in educational calendars, so a next era needs her calendar, House Of Singing Times, HOST, which I try to claim by spelling to be as the garments of the High Priest were to the Tabernacle, a kind of inside out.

2—I will be concentrating on trying to help organize the conducting of a next layer of social order in history, which see.

3--Rosetta Stone of Time will permeate my work. The idea is that, just as the Rosetta Stone was written in 3 languages, each saying the same thing, so that one unknown language of the 3 could then be learned and translated, we are communicated with by the past, by the present. and by the future, each being in a different language, but each saying the same thing.

We seem to concentrate almost exclusively on the past.

But, those ‘in a zone,’ are much in the present. This could include athletes with muscle memory, mechanics whose hands receive the information, musicians, persons working with computers to solve difficult problems.

Working with Lectionary Historical will/should help us learn more of the language of the future.

4—Pat WOT B. This is written in code, as I am approaching persons to do this.

5--Liturgical Battle Formation For Warriors of light/Living Epistles. Armies are in formation. We don’t want to treat our worship assemblies as the mixed multitude, unorganized, do we? This uses Jordan’s 49-book Bible, arranged in 7 sevens, each 7 being an iteration of the first 7 books, and the first 7 days. One person is in each ‘chair’. Each chair is one of these 49 books. Each chair sees the sermon especially through his book, and writes such for the others, even those who aren’t of the 49. Thus there is great reflection, great one anothering, great music. Light and sound are both waves. Engendered by the fact that cathedrals were astronomical observaties (Woods: “How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization’). They had holes in roofs, and lines on the floor of the cathedral, and where the sun shone, for example, taught them about the sun’s movements. But now we are the light (‘Let your light so shine before men…’) and we are in the firmament (Ephesians 2:6). Therefore we reflect on our being lights, embodying the Bible.

6--Christian Court TV. Self-explanatory. Can be a money-maker, a surplus producer. See ‘Biblical Law’ from American Vision. Get help from experts. Could be ‘real life’ with Saturday Court.

7--Beatitudinal Field. Along the side write the Beatitudes and Woes. Across the top write the names of major institutions in the community (and the community as a whole). How does each measure up? When that is answered, one can know better where to go and what to do for the community.

Redeemer Hours: Basic idea. Need $200,000 to buy church building. Find someone to buy 20,000 Redeemer (name of church) hours @ $10/hour--maybe they'll need 25,000 to compensate for the risk, and administration.

[Also, some hours are worth more than $10, some less. A computer guy, maybe 2 Redeemer hours per hour of work, a leaf-raker, maybe .75 per hour of work].

The members of the church would pledge a certain number of hours, say 5 a week (Saturdays?). So, to get to 25,000 hours, @ 50 weeks a year, 5 hours a week, that would be 250 divided into 25,000, or 100 member/years. That is 100 members x 5 hours a week, x 50 weeks, would equal the 25,000 hours.

My math may be off. The principle makes sense to me. Could circulate in community as alternative currency, see Time Banks and Labor Exchanges.

Could use this to get people into the narrative of God’s history, that is, who will help with this and see that it is a good idea and manifestation of Biblical principles?

And there's something odd about the 'nations' of students in the university narrative. Could these be used? I think so. An updated Mayflower Compact (call it the City Compact?) signed as an evangelistic and discipling tool.

Who says? Jay Abraham is very highly paid. North has written an economic commentary on the whole Bible, a project he started in 1973. That’s stick-to-itiveness, and comprehensivity. Thirdly, read on?

Before getting to the meat of lists, as presented by Jay Abraham and Gary North on North’s site, garynorth.com, here are two wonderful points.

1—Since I write just after I get up, about a page a day, in a schedule of first:Projects, second: Peace Calling/ Next Layer of Social Order, then third: Marketing, I find that I am thinking about what to write during the day before.

2—On lists, it’s not yet time for large numbers of people to participate. I’m looking for a few. Therefore, I will search for these few. I have many who have expressed some interest over the years (since 1997 for The Symphony of History). These are on forums, at work, at church, etc. We’ll start there. Then there is social media, and John Locke’s system for selling a million ebooks in 5 months will be helpful.

What I am looking for is a low double-digit number.

Each must qualify, by writing a note about what attracts them to some aspect of the Projects or A Next Layer of Social Order—Toward Peace.

Building on that, I will work toward a total system of marketing, using social media, websites, email lists, ebooks, etc. But this is a long term process. ERH said that his material would not get into schools for 100 years—my stuff will take longer.

The Most useful at present could be aspects of HOST, a new calendar, and How To Make Your Communities Better. On the calendar, one could start with renaming the days according to the retunng? Or maybe an aspect of Lectionary Historical?

We must test and see. We will be surprised. The market tells us.

Ego trumps money.

I have recognized the stage of the process.
It is not time for big mailing lists.
The products are not ready.
But I still must change the way I do things.

My calling is trying to help organize the conducting of a next era of social order in history, toward peace.

Conducting, as a train conductor, as an orchestra conductor, as a conductor of electricity.

First in order of complexity, this conducting would be like staying on track—wait, that’s more the engineer’s job. The conductor on a train takes tickets and sees to the passengers and the re cord keeping.

The symphony orchestra conductor follows the total score.

The electricity conductor is more complex. The bais is this: When a good man dies, great power is released into the field of time, like the generation of electricity. To use this power to best effect, transmitting, transforming, etc., that’s electricity conducting. It’s an honoring of father and mother, it’s an appreciation of the past.

Now, we do and will live in many social orders. These are represented by calendars. Here I follow Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy, argobooks.org. The tribal order is with us as community holidays. The empire order is with us as work and business schedules. The ecclesiastical calendar manifests the Israel social order. The Greeks are with us as educational calendars.

ERH (Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy) held to this sequence of social orders. Tribe, Empire, Israel, Greece, He Who Reversed The Trend (Jesus Christ), the Church as Israel without the exclusiveness, the Nation-State [and Science] as Empire without slavery, and we are now confronted with the task of the Tribes without perpetual war, ‘socio-stuff’. The church has liturgy, science has the scientific method, and we must now apply the covenant sequence to the tribe.

Science is that arm of the church that is allowed to investigate to find out how much can be learned by treating the universe as dead. After The One True God conquered the other gods (of rivers, storms, etc.) so that these other gods did not have to be charmed before action could be taken, science could proceed. Church, Heavens Above; Science, Waters Under the Earth; A Next Layer, The Earth Beneath (People Made of Dust).

There is also the Jordan sequence (Crisis, Opportunity, and the Christian Future) which sees history as a succession of emphases on, respectively, The Father, and The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Thus, Tribes, Nations, Cosmopolitan before Jesus, and Church, Christian State, University (700 year periods) after.

A third system, based on ERH, is limned in Clint Gardner’s ‘Beyond Belief,’ Chapter 5. Starting with the Papal Revolution in the 11th C., each national revolution follows the sequence of Imperative, Subjective, Narrative, and Objective. Jordan calls these Law, Lyric, Evaluation, Fact unto new Torah.
I’ll summarize Gardner later. But my 4 are Comprehensive Beauty, How To Make Your Communities Better, The Symphony of Peace/History, and House of Singing Times (calendar). These will be explained more later.

Other works to follow are the lectures of ERH at Dartmouth, especially the new DVD material on Universal History 1949-1956. These are available from Amazon.com, and can be found from a link at argobooks.org. There are other DVDs of lectures also, and each DVD contains several aaudio sets of lectures, and all the lectures in transcript. ERH sang his ideas into his students, so the audio experience is crucial. There are some books free online at argobooks.org also.

Key Levers Politically And What Technology Destroyed Europe WWI

Much political discussion is entertainment, that is ‘between holding’.

What are the keys to be held?

We could learn this by seeing what technology (yes, Marx!) made it such that WWI and WWII happened, for any new technology destroys the old group (yes, Rosenstock-Huessy!) while increasing the space over which one can operate, and decreasing the time it takes to do something.

Thus we re-member (sic—join ourselves again) history, that is, Armistice Day, a real time, a celebration of peace in which the whole people can celebrate at the same time, as one.

This is not only the general idea of having place one’s frail body between one’s loved home and the war’s desolation. Not a general idea, but a specific time. General ideas get lost, one cannot as well focus on them.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month—November 11, A. D. 1918, the Armistice ending the fighting that was the end of Europe—one can get one’s mind and soul around that, and so too can every one, and the whole people can celebrate this one time, as one, on the same day.

1--People are making political statements. The statements of one oath-bound the the 3 Forms should be derived from them. I don't see such derivation. 2--This lack of use of the foundational document is similar to such lack of use of the foundational document that some mention in the political realm. That is, some say--You can't do 'Y,' it's not in the Constitution. I say, 'Derive your political postions from the documents you vow --by membership -- are foundational to your application of the Bible. 3--I'm also saying that if such are not derivable, they are .... --I ask you, what? -- or that there should be some changes made in the documents, their application, one's vows, etc. For instance, some could argue that #36 of the Belgic applies to church buildings. 4--For example, the writers of the U. S. version of the Westminster Confession of Faith changed one part, if I remember correctly, to NOT say that the magistrate had the authority to call synods. I may soon post something on BH. It will outline a problem, and then invite everyone to 'solve' it. I will include the phrase 'You know my methods,' for I do come up with odd things. But only later will I share what I think might be a good solution. The basic idea is that in the 17th and 18th C., cathedrals were used as astronomical observatories. Holes were made in the ceilings, and meridian lines placed on the floor. Then the movement of the sun could be tracked. This helped with equinoxes and dates of Easter. I will maintain that we can glorify this, inter-personally, sociologically.

Someone wrote 'Teach me!'. This should be a new way of doing so.

They enjoyed life, and built a community for about 100 years—this building and enjoying continues.

In 1922, this history was written to be shared. In 1936 it becan to be shared in a yearly community celebration, Tulip Time. Many visitors come. Tourist come at all times of the year to see Pella, the Historical Village, etc.

Now, in A. D. 2011, we ask this question:
How can this refuge be given to others?

We are in an age of increasing technological benefits, but, as Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy said, any new technology increase the space over which we can operate, decreases the time it takes, but destroys the old community. [Fear not, as travel went from ships and covered wagons, to railroads, and cars, we have lived through that change.]

We see three more Christian principles at work here in How To Make Your Communities Better.
1—The consummation is greater than the creation. That is, as Pella moves along her covenant history, there are greater things.
2—As great Providential gifts are given, we are to give. Pella was given refuge, she should give refuge.
3—We are to become more and more what we are. Personally, a unique image of GodTrinity, with talents to be used. For Pella, she become more and more her name: Refuge.

An example of how rhyming covenant sequences helps.

Take two of them. THEOS and the first 4, 5 words, commandment.

If coming to Pella 1847 is both obeying a Transcendant God and setting up a new Hierarchy (America, not Holland), then living Ethically until 1922 (and continuing) would be next, but what does one do with ‘Oaths and Sanctions’ as the next side of the square?

One goes to the word/commandment about the Sabbath, and realizes that its admonition to give rest fits in with the sharing of Tulip Time and Souvenir History of Pella, so that the Oath part is seen to be more Sanctions—that one should give rest somehow.

One also sees an implication of getting out and coming to the new land, the Transcendant Hierarchy, and of Ethically living there. This implication is that one should give rest, share, or be sanctioned?

As these sequences are piled up more and more, we learn more and more about them individually, in part, totally, and in whole.

Someone has a nice exegesis of the 4 Gospels in which he says that each one addresses a particular social order--tribe, empire, Israel, Greece. In addition, they make a circle, in that the end of Matthew leads into the beginning of Mark, and so on, such that the end of John leads back to Matthew. And these social orders remain in layers of calendars. Community, tribal; empires, business/work; Israel, church; Greece, education. This is very wise. And this one says that we now enter a neo-tribal era, where ridding ourselves of the perpetual warfare of the tribe is the key, while keeping the small, enthusiastic groups. We rid ourselves of the worst of the other two already, and Greece should never be an imperative, only a companion.

Yes, we must know our history.

In the Hartman Calendar's* Lectionary Historical, it's been 21 ordinary weeks since Resurrection, and @ 40 years/week, that 840 years.

The time from A D 70 + 840 = 910: What was happening A. D. 910-950 that we need to remember.

And, backwards, 2100 - 840 = 1271-1231. What was happening then?

The book, The 100 Most Significant Events in Church History could help, and Timetables of History (not just church).

There are Lectionaries Historical for many periods possible.

'America' would be one, and we'd want to go, say 539 years each way (11 years per week of 49), a kind of 'Looking Backward' to help us hear the distant triumph song.

It's 81 years more or less per period from Creation to A. D. 70. 121 from Creation to Now.

To go the 16 billion years, you must stack up periods within each week, but that helps, since you can get to 49 seconds ago, and fine-tune your time sense. ERH's Soziologie has two parts. Space and Time, and the second is subtitled 'When the Times Must Be Obeyed.'

And a wise thing would be this: Since the Past and the Future cause the Present, we should get so into the thoughts of God that we can somehow let the Future impact us in the typological liturgical battle on the Lord's Day.

That is, as He will have dragged us lovingly into His Future, changing us...what song (form) of the Future should we attempt to amen and vow in covenant renewal worship?

This IS deep.

When we only sing songs of the past, we are amening that the past and the present cause the future.
ERH calls this heresy.

We are locked in a room that has all the doors open.

The Holy Spirit adds to our groanings. We crawl before we walk before we run.

Calendar And Art Form Updates: HOST/TSOH

I'll soon finish updating House (Peace) of Singing Times (Calendar) for this year (Coram, Celebration Of Resurrection Anno Mundi).

I'll put Eldstering in it.*

Then I'll do the more fully articulated process for The Symphony of (Peace) History.

To arrange the universes of questions are asked and arranged to become the universes of questions to which to respond in each stage is my task.

Eventually I hope to have an app made, so that persons can play, do, be, compose, conduct in a version of The Symphony of (Peace) History, electronically.

HOST needs to be updated because it is even more useful now that it is done once, for the first time.

TSOH is calling for articulation because this is the time of the coram/year for it to be. That's how calendars work, they are schedules for society that manifest truths.

Wouldn't it be great to have 100 years of Symphonies done by a church, to show the progression, or vice versa, of the congregation? TSOH is a proleptic recapitulation from consummation to creation, and vice versa, typological.hospitality.evangelism.**

* I think it qualifies. In earlier times, days for celebrating lives of 'saints' were respective death days.

Then one would have a complete earthly impact finished.

Eldstering is a recognition of possible coming enfeeblement, befuddlement as one ages, and the vowing of non-family persons to help.

**In a way, it must be done to be understood. It's like learning to type, learning to play sports, learning a musical instrument.

We are ALREADY seated with Christ Jesus in the heavenlies, Eph. 2:6.

Part of my life's work is to have names of days that more accurately reflect the current firmament, the social one that has, in representation, the 7, yea 8 ages of history given to use in the Bible, the 8th being the result of the destruction of central worship in A. D. 70 so that we now worship with angels and archangels and all the host of heaven, Hebrews 12:22.

And it's 'retuned' so today we remember strongly Sardis, the Exile and Remnant period. SardisBmoY, for 'The Day' approaches us, drags us, from the future, and we take time in, this Remnant time, 'ymmmm'. SardsYmmmm. Sounds crazy, but that's my specialty.

History is maturation, and more

New technology destroys old groups. We maturing ones have the task of making new, better groups.

We should be technological Amish, that is, we should not worship the technology, but use it to make better groups. This maturation is difficult.

Example: Creveld says that the nation-state came about when the organization was separated from the person. The nation state had great advantages. Now it is failing because of lack of justice and because of lack of stable currency for retired people (Barzun).

What group(s) might replace the centralized nation-state organization? Dr. North suggests local, local, local--counties.

It could be strong men, as happened after Rome fell. (And after the horse collar increased by 10 the amount a horse could pull, thugs around these strong men were turned into knights, protecting travelers, I've read. How did this happen? Apply it to present situations).

Monasteries were incredibly important. Each was founded in a 'desert'. Forests were cleared, swamps drained, etc.

A hospital management company ruled much of Europe--Knights Hospitaler--someone has written.

'Organized crime'--as some would see them--might carry the burden. Renegade History of the USA.

Great families. Rockefellers are only, what, 4 or 5 generations old.

Start one of these organizations.

Cassiodorus was a secretary of state in the declining Roman Empire. He saw what was coming, retired, turned his lands into a monastery, and set the monks to copying ancient books. He outlived many of the first generation, and at 90, I've read, ended up teaching spelling to the next generations of copyists. [We can save that many documents on a laptop computer].

CONCLUSION: To repeat, new technology destroys the old group, while increasing the space over which we can operate, and decreasing the time needed to do things. Our job is to know this so as to keep the good of the past, and plant the seeds of the future new organizations. Someone recently wrote that the Black Death brought in 'the saints'. And within a few centuries, the Reformation. The Reformation's 30 Years War killed half of Germany, but brought in Westphalia, and then the organization separated from the person of the ruler, the nation-state. Now the nation-state is failing, but corporations are here, each of us has more horsepower than tribes had horses. There were 3 million in colonial America, 300 million in contemporary America.

Let's use these great Providential gifts, first by being thankful for them, and then by remembering what bad happened with previous technological advances.

In a way, history is maturation.

Discipling Communities by Commissioning

Dear ____:

You have helped. I thank you. Something good has emerged.

Remember that memory place town square (GoForth+!) creation where events were paralleled by parts of the Heidelberg Catechism? It has, after years, been glorified into a tool for discipling communities.

We add things. Because we thanked, we thought. Thinking is thanking.

The series of additions begins. What we add is Wayne Larson's 'Everything is liturgy' and JBJ's/ERH's covenant sequence of history.

Then we add 3 things from Pastor Nolder's sermons. 1--The consummation must be greater than the creation. 2--You are given gifts, in order to give them. 3--Christianity is the only religion in which you are to become more and more what you are.

This also uses the great tool that we have of the tourists, both in normal times and during Tulip Time.

We would hand them out a small booklet that explains the above, and applies it, and offers our services in helping do the same for their community.

We start west of the southwest corner of the square in Holland, and move to the southeast corner, 1847. This is the Call and Cleanse segment of the liturgy of history.

Moving North, we get to 1922, when The Souvenir History of Pella was written. Consecration. Or, as JBJ calls it in Crisis, Opportunity..., Lyric. ERH calls this subjective, new persons, new speech. [A side note: The Libertarian Party candidate for President, John Hospers, born in Pella in 1918, spoke Dutch at home.]

Then, moving west, we get to 2011. Tulip Time started in 1936. This is the Evaluation section for JBJ, the narrative/new institutions for ERH. Communion, a sharing, for the 5Cs.

It is now 2011, and what are we going to give (part 2 of Pastor Nolder, above). The greater gift (parts 1 and 3).

And now, how are we to be more and more our name, the consummation being greater than the creation?

In the empire/business area, the crying need today seems to be the ability to navigate the economic stresses. We have transitioned in Pella from self-employed workers, to big companies, but have kept some fine features. Also, the internet offers ways to sell one's self-employed wares. That kind of thing. St. Louis: He was a Crusader, a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. What is the crusade now (crusades recover lost territory, evangelists go into new territory)? How do we understand the separated out ones, differently, and more appropriately?

This would be a great ministry—even for a small church--, for with the unprecedented new technology, we have a corresponding breakdown of the old communities –they need to be transformed through Pastor Nolder’s 3, above – as our spatial reach increases, and the time taken to do things decreases.

Spaced repetition learning.

What I do is run through the Bible 'phases' and find iterations of the theme--and then I go to post-A. D. 70 'phases'.

For instance, we are being sermonized on the Psalms of Ascent.

OK, let's do two things -- mountains, and festivals (the went to Jerusalem for 3 mandatory feasts, all males over 20).

Let's do 7 phases, analogous to the 7 churches, symbolically. Garden--To Abe, Prison--To Moses, Wilderness--to David/Solomon, Kingdom--to Elijah, Remnant and Exile--To Ezra/Nehemiah, World Witness--to Incarnation, Communion with God and Apostasy in Jesus' Time--to A. D. 70.

What mountains (and world models, for tab and temple were mountains), what festivals of holy war?

Mountain = 'har'. Festival = 'mo'ed/moged. Thus harmoged, or maybe armageddon? I don't know. Suggestive.

The Garden was below the mountain, the feast was the two trees, Abe had significant interactions with the mountain at Isaac's being sacrificed, and they ate a ram. Moses went up the mountain, came back and they ate an Inspection of Jealousy, etc. Tab as multi-storied mountain, mountain of elders over 10, 50s, 100s, thousands. Etc.

Benefits: We would know what time it is. It is not hyper-preterism time—there is still a Great Day of Last Judgment to come. It is not that Jesus is coming soon to rule in Jerusalem for 1000 years, for instance—for we now worship in Heaven, there is no central worship place on earth after A. D. 70.

Public Vindication is a holiday. A holiday is when the whole people are to celebrate one historical event at the same time together. (An historical event is something that happens once for the first time).

In a new layer of calendar, Public Vindication is celebrated starting at the 71st day after Pascha/Easter. The 11th Lord’s Day.

It is celebrated for 7 days, and the days are also named after books of the 49-book Bible. The 4th book of each of the 7 sevens is what the name of the day also is, in the order 4152637 (similar to Sun-day, Moon-day, etc. like our the present predominant names of the days in American English). Thus, we have the typical-ness of the 4th day, when the greater light (sun), lesser light (moon), and stars were made. Each typifies a 7, thus another 49, as the 49 book Bible, and as A. D. 70 typifies the victory.

One could follow the book of Revelation in some way on the Lord’s Day of Public Vindication.

BEFORE we get to Public Vindication, we have a ‘22’. From Pentecost through Public Vindication is 3 weeks, 3 sevens, plus one more day. Thus we can prepare for Public Vindication by using these 22s.

a—The 22 books of the Hebrew scriptures, literarily conceived. See Jordan’s ‘Rethinking the Order of the Old Testament’. Forward and backward.

b—The 22 parts of Psalm 119. Forward and backward.

c—The 22 ‘selahs’/breaks in Psalm of Day in House of Singing Times new layer calendar, Forward and backward.

d—The 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet (see ‘b’), and the respective word associated with each. ‘Beth’ means ‘house,’ for instance. Forward and backward.

e—A ‘22’-ness’ of the Greek scriptures, with the first day of the 22 encompassing 6 books, and each of the last 21 having one book. Forward and backward.

To get the full effect of Public Vindication, it would help to listen to Jordan’s exposition of Revelation, with notes, from www.wordmp3.com. He says that Revelation is preterist, also futurist, also idealist, also historicist. It is summational of the whole Bible, liturgical—a worship service, for John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day--, and transformational—the attributes of Jesus in the beginning are transferred also to the Bride adorned at the end. I believe it also teaches us Symbol, the Language, for Revelation is written in Symbol.

Thought Revelation specifically tells us of the events from Pentecost to A. D. 70, it is both thus recapitulative and proleptic—it tells us the form of what will happen in the big transformations to come, all culminating in the Great Day of Final Judgment.

It is in covenant sequence, which we amen in covenant renewal worship, and which also is the form of historical transformation. Thus, Jordan’s ‘Crisis, Opportunity, and the Christian Future,’ and Gardner’s summation of the revolutions of the West in Chapter 5 of Beyond Belief,’ and Gardner’s chart of the complete cross of reality at the end of that book.

So, Public Vindication is after 10 (weeks), and after an 11 is The Battle of the Mountain of Festival Assembly, and after another 11 is Total Christ/Totus Christus, and there are 17 more weeks until the end of the year, or coram—Celebration Of Resurrection Anno Mundi. There is much more to this layer of calendar, HOST, House Of Singing Times, on which I write the covenant sequence and in which I rhyme ‘30’ covenant sequences. In miniature, PV is A. D. 70, TBOTMOFA is something such as the conversion of Constantine and the Roman Empire, and TC is the Christianization of Europe around A. D. 1000. Or, Red Sea, Sinai, Conquest of the Promised Land. Etc. Or Cleansing (confession and authoritative forgiveness), Consecration (sermon), Communion (Lord’s Supper).

Benefit 3—Rescue Team for eldster, Cure Team, and the beginnings of KOHEN (Knights of Helping Elderly Neighbors).

HOW THE MEMORY PALACE WORKS. We place along the sides of the town square the events of Mae Hartman, in chronological order. And we also place along these sides, the ‘Guilt, Grace, Gratitude’ of the heart of the theology of the town, the Heidelberg Catechism. Originally this was to show the differences. It has grown.

The 4th side is ‘Go Forth,’ contributed by Jeff Harlow, who is not responsible for my errors.

So, the benefits were the Go Forth, as we go backward from south of the southwest corner to the northwest corner.

Simultaneously the other group has met us at the southwest corner, moving from west of the southwest corner. They will go from Pella Books to the pro-life Pregnancy Center.

South of the southwest corner represents the future into which we go. West of it is the past from which we have come. Past and future cause the present.

Forward. The southwest corner of the forward group is July 4, A. D. 2004. We join the church, Mom, my wife, and I. Thus begins yohad, Years Of Hell And Death. In the center of the southern side of the square is ‘Nuremberg,’ in this case off label antipsychotics without informed consent, after ‘agitation’ by showering practices—typical.

At the southeast corner is St. Wjlesa. Some Times We Just Let ‘Em Slip Away. Said to us soon after Mom was in the emergency room, having been crippled by being attacked by another resident. They told us she ‘fell’. This was Guilt Street. [I confessed to a called and ordained servant of the Word to the present-day equivalent of ‘manstealing,’ a capital offense, and was forgiven in the stead and by the command of Our Lord, not because of what I did, but because of what Jesus did.]

We return now to the backwards traveling group. After traversing Go Forth Street, we come to the Girardean funeral, after Mom died at 10:20 PM on November 15, A. D. 2006. The ‘family’ who abandoned her now told everyone how much they had loved her. Those who killed the prophets erected monuments to them, and claimed them—later.

From the northwest corner, traveling the memory palace backward along Gratitude Street, we have the doctors’ strike. You cannot yell at doctors, even when they allow such things as what I have called Nuremberg, and the other things. Thanks to Louise and Karissa we did get Mom off the drugs.

A history: In Guthrie hospital after her reaction to drugs for heart—or heart attack: ‘I don’t want to die.’ After the crippling: “I don’t want to die yet.’ After off the drugs: ‘Keep me alive,’ and ‘I want to go home’.

The backwards group arrives at Circumcision. The northeast corner. The idea for this memory palace came to me as I was doing a sanity check at our church’s celebration of Circumcision of Our Lord (New Year’s Eve) A. D. 2005/6.

The forward group is traveling from the southeast corner (St. Wjlesa) up Grace Street, going past ‘Ethics’ Committee. They wanted to dope Mom up more, so they got together with us—some of us refused permission to come in. The first statement was typical: ‘You can’t prevent falls’. The wicked flee where no man pursueth.

And so we are all together, both groups. Another song, and then each travels the portion of the square it has not yet traveled.

The square makes a tattoo (we were tribally treated, the altar being the future: Rosenstock-Huessy. ‘They’ did not know that.). Also, on top of the others, we have a zero for confession and cleansing, a fish for Jesus Christ God’s Son, Savior ( I X TH U S), and a stitch for the new clothing, Hebrews 1:12.

On the 80th day, inclusive, after Pascha/Easter, we have the conference after this confession of square walking memory palace. This year, PROPR, as above. Previous years had featured Stockman from Ibsen’s ‘An Enemy of the People,’ Rene Girard, Thomas Szasz’ ‘Ceremonial Chemistry,’ Heart of Darkness—‘The horror, the horror,’ and maybe one other.

Next year, Psalm 138:2b.

Will There Be War?

'Will there be war?' You jest. It's permanent, 3 at least now, bases all over the world, Codevilla's ruling class vs. the productive. Tax eaters and tax payers. Debasing of currency (in war, you counterfeit the opponent's currency). These are birth pangs.

Old institutions are destroyed by great technological change. The Amish forbid electricity for that reason, I believe, for that reason--it destroys the group. Our calling is to be technological, with the appropriate new and old group(s). A hospital management company once 'ruled' much of Europe (Knights Hospitaller)., I have read. Agriculture was the key to wealth for barons, counts, etc. The Hapsburgs made their money building towns and renting out parts (Berman, 'Law and Revolution'). We have digital CONTINENTS emerging just recently.

Specific Commissioning in the Congregation, as Holy War

1--There's as much authority to commission as to cleanse.
2--Maybe even more, for commissioning comes at a more 'adult' part of the liturgy, after call, cleanse, consecrate, commune. Jesus is the First Adult. We were slaves and children under tutors before Jesus, etc.
3--Start slowly, small, using military briefings before a battle as an example. Where will the enemy strike, what strongholds of the enemy must we take? What must be held at all costs? What will our allies do? What weapons shall we use? Who will do what? Think Battle of Britain.
4--Dear Pastor: I'm thinking there should be a time in the Church Year for a Situation Report on the condition of the War. This could then drive the articulation of strategies and tactics. Maybe the 11th Lord's Day, inclusive, after Pascha/Easter, Pentecost being the 8th. You could have influence were you to write such a sample sermon? I'd be much interested in reading it, listening to it. Please. Love in King Jesus, Chuck PS: The beginning of the history would be like it is in the Heidelberg, and much could be added about A. If the Baptists are better at feeding the poor, maybe a talent of one of our congregation would be to be Ambassador to the Baptists--Matthew 25 comes to mind. a’. To put it another way, there are many instruments in an orchestra, many to ‘join with us their voices in the triumph song’.

Exegeting a City, Discipling a Community by Commissioning

I think this may be useful in exegeting a city, though I've missed the talk so far.

1--This takes off from the position that the pastor (church rulers) have as much authority to commission (in the 5 Cs of JBJ) as they do to cleanse.

Yea, even more, for worship is transformational, and we should be more adult now that we have gone through the process of being Called, Cleansed, Consecrated, Communed...

2--The second thing is rhyming covenants. Here we rhyme the covenantal history of a community with the covenant of the worship service. Lay them side by side, or one atop the other.

3--What then? We find that we are in a commissioning stage with the community. And we commission.

4--Give an example or two? OK, Pella. Called to Iowa by the situation in Holland. Cleansed by getting here. Consecrated by a sacrificial life (cut apart from the home country, worship, etc.). After 1922, when a Sourvenir History of Pella was written, Communed, in that people were invited into the history via community celebration of Tulip Time. And now, 2011, Pella will be commissioned, that is sent out, for Pella has been given much, and should then give to others.

5--Of course, with all this there are deaths and resurrections, as technology destroys the old group, while allowing action over more space and in less time (ERH).

6--In what ways, commission. Well, Pella is easier, since the name means refuge. How give refuge? In 4 aspects: Community (tribal), Business (empires), Religion (Israel), Education (Greece).

7--I have imperatives, but I'm thinking it more important to do it with many members of the community participating, so that it can be owned by them.

6'--One could share this method of community renewal with the tourists. The businesses could be revitalized, but even more one could work on sources of new income from working from home, or a web business, like unto earlier Pella with tradesmen. In Religion, if we take the 26 churches we pray for and multiply by 200 in attendance regularly, we find that 5200 is about half of Pella. Thus, revival, or something? Missions with our money--or bring in an African (!) to show us how Africa went from 10% Christian in 1900 to 46% today? Education--Well, there is much home schooling, the college has gone liberal, the internet beckons, etc.

5'--Were we to put this history around the town square, we could put types of technology on each side, and someones could explore changes in community. The pioneers came by sailing ship and covered wagon, from 1847-1922 it was railroads and telegraph and telephone. 1922-2011, big technology with movies, radio, TV, internet. What's after 1922, and how to keep community amidst the big changes?

4'--We should also go backward from either/or the future and the present. A Looking Backward. Greater Things Multi-Generational Family Projects would help here, but basically we travel the memory palace of the town square backward. Finding roots for our fruits, we find new roots.

3'--The commisioning could be done by one pastor or church (Gregory VII), or by agreement beforehand and a meeting in the football stadium (Uganda after Amin) and maybe a real covenanting with signatures on a new document. Whoever covenants IS the community. That's how whoever articulates the imperative makes the revolution. Gardner's Beyond Belief, Chapter 5, has great summaries of the national revolutions in the West. Imperative, Subjective, Narrative, Objective. Law, Lyric, Evaluation, Fact.

2'--This would reinvigorate worship, for we would be commanded as we went out, specifically. ERH says history moves from plural to individual. And these commanded things are worked out in advance. We are a team, even better, we are militarily organized as in a war, a Holy War, unto maturity, within redemptive history, psalmodically responding. The orchestra and chorus, the baseball team, needs all player, each is important.

1'--What WAS the process by which Domine Scholte (pastor who led emigration) did it? What documents are there as to covenants? How can we do analogously, but with greater maturity, given our greater great Providential gifts?

I pray this makes some sense.

As usual, this is off the top of my head, after much digestion, and I realize that I am not an administrator, but I believe this could be a local local local way to build up to larger units of covenant, and I think it is entirely possible that we may be forced to more local local local actions by the destruction of idols that is coming, with debts and deficits, etc.

What Is The Imperative For This Age To Come?

The question is, what is the new imperative for this ‘revolution’? Could it be ‘Speak in imperative, formal speech behind which you put your life. Incarnational speech, ERH might say.

Better: Use rightly the speech process. Then we go to subjective, narrative, and objective.

Subjective: Commission.

Narrative: Calendar (House Of Singing Times0. On this, ERH says ‘Show me a man’s schedule, and I’ll tell you who he is.’ I say, ‘Show me a society’s calendar(s) and I’ll tell you what she is,’ or better ‘Write a society’s calendar(s) to mature them.’.

And finally, the objective: The ChorusOrchestra. The Symphony of History (ERH: Fruit of Lips). The covenant oriented (northed—God’s throne is in the north, we no longer are ‘oriented’/’easted’) toward the earth beneath, people, as liturgy was/is the covenant oriented toward the heavens above, and the scientific method was/is the covenant oriented toward the waters under the earth.

Science Fiction and Biblical Horizons Theology--A Start

You are far too kind.

I will attempt something this AM, and then think on your post today at work.

The first thing that comes to mind is world-building. This seems to be something that SF has in common with BH/theology. For instance, in 'Through New Eyes' we see that men,under God, have built a series of world modelling buildings to go with the words that have been given them. JBJ has said that the words to the tabernacle are the Decalogue, the words to the Temple are the Psalms. The arrangement of the prophets, especially The Twelve (not arragned chronologically) may be a retuning also.

So, world-building. There are books, Poul Anderson has written something such as this, on how to build a world.

Second, Anselm. Some SF guys say that 'the universe is not only stranger than we imagine, but stranger than we can possibly imagine'.

Third, comprehensivity. From the Big Bang to the Heat Death, SF is set in the total universe, SF writers think. They attempt it. Creation to Consummation is better, with glorification.

Fourth, Psalmodic Response. We followers of the Way, respond to His words, of course, all of them. SF writers attempt something similar with nature. We have the true 3-decker creation. One good difference, bringing in ERH and Galileo, is that while Galileo says that the language of science is mathematics, ERH shows us that the heaven above are about names, the earth beneath about words, and the waters under the earth are about numbers--God claims them all, from before Day One to the name for each of us that only He knows, that we grow up to be.

Fifth, sense of wonder. There is more. Coast to Coast AM, I have said, is more about 'news' than the news, for that reason. Reverence is Goedelian.

Sixth, ERH's four fronts as psalmodic response buildings. This is best set out in a couple lectures before the end of Universal History 1954. We can compare them to the 4 of the tabernacle, too. For instance, the tribes are in: dancing green (marriage), out: warpath, forward: altar, back: totem pole (portable grave). This morphs into the empires: in (economy or consanguinous intermarriage, I believe), out: fortresses, forward: the little marketplace that there is, and back: settlement time (?; this I need to look up). One can compare this to the morphing of the Tabernacle to the Temple. ERH gets very wonderful when he speaks of the next era from this one, and his cross of reality is a torn-ness ever-present to Christians, and to those of us on the cusp of change and being changed

Here are 3 examples of B, sequence in history. 1—North’s book ‘Crossed Fingers’ has many sequences of events that follow a 5-point pattern. 2—Jordan’s booklet ‘Crisis, Opportunity, and the Christian Future’ has a 4 sequence, and a 3 sequence. When we add ‘in’ before, and ‘out’ after, we get 5 from 3. 3—Chapter 5 of Gardner’s ‘Beyond Belief’ shows how the revolutions of the West have followed a 4 sequence.

So, when we write the history of a community, we will write it as a sequence, and show that we are now in that part of the sequence that is similar to the commissioning (benediction, sending out) of the worship sequence.

Example: Pella, Iowa. The founders of Pella were called out of Holland by the conditions there, and got new life in America, arriving in 1847. The first two in the sequence.

Until 1922, when ‘A Souvenir History of Pella’ was written, and 1936 with the first Tulip Time community celebration, they were living in the word, let’s say. The third in the sequence. [I have better resonances in some of the other analogous sequences. For instance, in Jordan’s Law-Lyric-Evaluation-Fact, the Lyric stage is happily living, and the Evaluation is highlighted by the book and celebration.]

Until now, A. D. 2011, the residents of the Pella community have been a community with celebration. (And there is much eating!). Similar to Communion in a liturgical service, as getting out of Holland was like being Called, and getting to America was being Cleansed.

So now we are in the Commissioning stage of the 5Cs of worship, applied to history. Again, see ‘What Would A Commissioning Minister Do?’.

Here we put forth two principles from Pastor Nolder. 1—As you are given, you are to give to others. 2—Christianity is the only religion in which you are supposed to be what you are, that is, created in God’s image, the image of God.

Putting these two things together with the fact that the name ‘Pella’ means refuge, and that since the founders and followers of Pella have been given refuge, we ask this: In what way(s) can Pella now GIVE refuge, since that is what those made in the image of God would do, give as they were given.?

Shortly, for our purposes, we can list these 4, in some sense corresponding to orders of society. Tribal, Empire, Israel, Greece. Community, Business, Ecclesiastical, Educational.

I invite discussion on the forms of refuge to be offered under each of these headings. I have good ideas, but perhaps they are not the best, in that as a pastor dies for his flock (hands laid on at ordination, etc.) so one who will commission a community must so identify himself with it that he knows what technological innovations have caused the community to be able to act over greater distance, and in shorter time, but at the same time have destroyed the old society, a new one being reborn, in a sense.

In Universal History 1954, in lectures around 23 and 24 (a Dartmouth course) ERH recounts the 4 fronts of in-out-forward-back for each of the orders of society, and their post-Resurrection glorifications.

One who would commission Pella/Refuge would do that, for each of the 4 sides of the town square, on which the chronology of Pella is written, the historical turning points being when the direction of travel in this memory palace is changed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_loci

The first side starts west of the SW corner, and proceeds to the SE corner, 1847: Arrival in Pella of the 100. Going north, we reach 1922 at the NE corner. Going west we reach A. D. 2011 at the NW corner, at which time we commission Pella to be what she is, Refuge, as she is sent out from this time, with a blessing command.

Here is a table to be filled in:

What would be some examples? Change of language. John Hospers, Libertarian candidate for President in a972, I believe, did not speak English at home. He was born in 1918.

The pioneers traveled by sailing ship, I believe, and covered wagon. But between 1847 and 1922 in came the railroad, the telegraph, and the telephone, and radio. 1922-2011 saw airplane, television, moving pictures, etc. From 2011 on it would seem that the internet, etc. would be big.

In education, Central College in town was founded by Baptists, but now is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, and 25% of her students are Roman Catholic. PEACE, a homeschool group is big in the community, and Pella Christian schools are too.

In religion, it is said that this is a Christian Reformed community, but the percentage of church attendance in all types of churches is below 50%.

Businesses include one of the top 100 companies to work for, Pella Corp. (windows), and the Vermeer Corporation, which has 2 full-time chaplains, and brings in religious speakers.

There is more, but this is how one would disciple a community by commissioning her. Put her history in a sequence analogous to a worship sequence, and having written it that way, you are in the commissioning position, the loving imperative that she be her name, when you have died and been reborn in that history, as outlined above.

I have attempted much shorter such efforts with St. Louis (he was a Crusader, and a saint—and what are these today?) and Boulder, Colorado (briefly, the rock of Washington that the ‘liberals’ governing Boulder thought they could depend on, has become sand in the machinery of good local government).

PS: More can be said. This is pretty good for three pages. In my personal 5-point life, 1 is rhyming covenant sequences, and 5 is this honoring of the past (father and mother) so as to live well and prosper in the future (what the Lord our God has given us). 2 is respectively are Lectionary Historical, in which periods of time are divided into 49ths, one of the 49th for each respective week of the year. 3 is The Symphony of History, which I claim is analogous in orientated to the earth beneath (people) , as the liturgy of the church was, oriented to the heavens above in the first 1000 years, and the scientific method was, oriented to the waters under the earth in the second 1000—this is a sketch. 4 is a calendar that rhymes 30 covenant sequences. Key initial parts are one book of the Bible per each of the 49 weeks of the year, and renaming the days to reflect the new firmament of Ephesians 2:6.

What Would A Commissioning Minister Do?

This is based on the idea that just as pastors have the authority in the stead and by the command of our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive sins--the whole congregation, and individually--in the worship service, pastors have the authority to specifically commission, just as they generally commission, lets' say, using Matthew 28.

So, just before the general benediction and sending out, the commissioning, for those who beforehand have consulted with the elders, and all are in agreement, the commissioning minister could specifically commission, for example, Mrs. Jones to work with the younger wives, Dr. Smith to begin to plan for a pro-life pregnancy clinic, the McGuffey family to begin a multi-generational Big Project of X (I like the Texas-sized ocean of plastic between Hawaii and Japan), Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez to be Ambassadors to the Baptists and their feed-the-poor project. Ambassadors would encourage cross-congregational praying for specific ministries of other churches.

The possibilities are endless.

Even more exciting for the older man in ministry might be his opportunity to use his accumulated wisdom in a Jacob-like way, no longer moving the furniture but speaking wisdom that is acted by others. A big battle plan he could formulate. Are we in Bledsoe's 500-years shift to metropolitanism, JBJ's 3rd of the 700-year shifts since the Resurrection, this one emphasizing the Holy Spirit, ERH's sociological era in which the virtues of the tribe are emphasized, and perpetual war of the tribes is eliminated, as the empire/nation-state era eliminated slavery, and as the New Israel period eliminated exclusiveness?

This is in the Holy War area, and it moves us to specific actions and commissionings.

Think of a pilot's briefing before a big battle. Where is the enemy, what weapons do we have, where must we attack, where defend, where hold until relieved?

Re: Psalms.

I'd like to see some music for Psalms that chants a Psalm as written (English for now, I suppose), and then writes something that shows the structure, as JBJ does in his monthly Psalm writings.

And then back to the Psalm as written, chanted, for greater appreciation.

Off the top of my head, if there are 7 uses of a word, singing them 1234567 would be a showing of the structure.

Also, a chiastic Psalms could have the two A portions sung consecutively, with a SHOUT or other emphasis on the chiasmizing words or phrases.

Having been called into the Lord’s presence, having been cleansed by confession and authoritative forgiveness, having been consecrated by the sermon, and having been communed by the Lord’s Supper, and having been to the mountain of mountains, to worship with angels and archangels and all the company of Heaven, we cannot stay there. We are to be sent out, to say and do that which will bring about the full realization of the feast.

It’s like it was on the Mount of Transfiguration. They could not stay there, for there was someone at the foot of the mountain to be helped.

Who is at the foot of our mountain?
How goes the battle?
What do we see, as we look at the battlefield from the mountain?
Soon, we will pray for those fighting on fronts that we have commissioned previously.
But today, we begin fighting on two new and very important fronts. We begin by praying for our research team, who will be investigating these two fronts: (1) Liabilities into Assets—for example, the ocean of plastic the size of Texas situated between Hawaii and Japan. (2) Long-term callings—for example, Berman says in ‘Law and Revolution’ that those building medieval cathedrals literally had budgets for a thousand years.

a—The church started as a ‘tribe’ in the Roman ‘empire.’ Heir to all Israel from Adam.
As the Empire fell, King and Bishop stood side by side.
Now there are native churches in every land, and politics is becoming more

b—There are major changes every 500 years. @ A. D. 1000 is was the investiture
controversy. @ 1500 came the Reformation. Now, it is proposed, the move is

Exclusiveness—the first 1000 years. The nation-state, the new Empire,
eliminated slavery—the second 1000 years. And now we are entering an era of
the new tribe, aiming to eliminate the perpetual warfare of the tribe.

‘A wise one says that all 'revolutions' start with an imperative, go through subjective, to narrative, and end with objective. You are speaking in the objective. It goes nowhere. Articulate, please, an imperative’

THE ONE QUOTED IN THE FIRST QUESTION LONG-WINDEDLY ATTEMPTED TO ANSWER: Charles Howard Hartman Right, [____] . I see I must get Mr. Gardner to post his wonderful chapter 5. He lists the imperatives of each respective revolution, then the form of the subjective is the new persons and speech of each, the narrative he translates into the new institutions, and the objective into 'planetary' results. We are the heirs to all of these, and his gift is to have isolated them and to have shown how they arose. But the whole system is breaking down, as Pastor McAtee's posts tell us, and it is time for a new imperative--what will it be specifically. As each of the initiators of the previous changes spoke into a specific time and place, so must we. But what? In another context the great marketers Jay Abraham wrote the 'People are silently begging to be led'.

Charles Howard Hartman Elsewhere, ERH writes that all the significant happenings in the first millennium or the Christian Era were in the church. Creeds, Councils, conversions, etc. In the second millennium we have these nation-states (and science) as the most significant, he says. The church became inclusive, different from Israel of old. The nation-states, generally, abolished slavery. Now he says we must glorify the tribal social order, but without perpetual war, which is the problem of the tribes. Now, as I say, we are heirs to all of this and sometimes think that it has always been this way, the way it is now. But what we have now is hard-won, by people who followed the imperative necessary. What is it now? Gardner says in one place that to keep the fruits of these revolutions may be enough. Freedom of conscience (Luther), political freedom (English, American), individual enterprise (French), freedom from economic exploitation (Russian). Elsewhere he mentions Berman. In Berman's 'Law and Revolution' Berman mentions that medieval cathedrals literally had budgets for a thousand years. We need that kind of vision. It is very difficult.

Charles Howard Hartman Could it be expressed in a calendar (we are in at least 4 calendars now, community/tribal, business/empire, ecclesiastical/Israel, and educational/Greece)? Perhaps an art form? As all these calendars came about by articulation in life, perhaps we can see that the development of worship forms/liturgy was the key in the first 1000 years, and if we could see that the covenant structure (first 5 Words/Commandments) applied to 'nature'/reality minus speech is the scientific method as it has come to us, perhaps we could ask, what art form would be to the earth beneath/people, as the liturgy is to the heavens above, and as the scientific method is to the waters under the earth? (I'm working on these two--calendar and art form, as the words of ERH and others bounce around in my soul). Many remark that the institutional church seems to have lost her power. Others see that the nation-state does not seem to be able to do what it seemed it would.

Charles Howard Hartman To put this in terms of the other revolutions, what is the imperative, what are the new persons and new speech, what are the new institutions, what is the planetary service? That's what I am asking.After reading Gardner's chapter 5, and seeing how new forms of the above came AFTER the new imperative, as articulations of a response to it, we can better work on this. Note that all of these thought they were following God's Word, etc. That is too general, isn't it? Are the new type of persons bankers, or banksters--are they the ones who have the Spirit-engendered authority to make something from nothing, or at least to provide liquidity (water) for house-law/oikos-nomos/economies. Most of us would say no, that's a failure. Is it think tanks, scientific study groups, etc? Is it a hospital society, such as the Knights Templar, which ruled large portions of Europe. Is it, and I think we are getting somewhere here, economic corporations, the daughter of nation-states, who were themselves, the daughter of the church, especially Cluny monastery? Is our new type of speech electronic world-wide interaction? Is it telepathy, end-times prophecy? Is it a new language, formed of many as Afrikaans, or is it computer zeroes and ones? OK. Here’s a simple imperative. ThyatiraYUMM! Instead of naming days after pagan gods, and material planets in the sky, name them after the social firmament, which is the Church, as articulated in a retuning of the churches of our childhood, the 7 yea 8 in Revelation. (The books opened are the letter to the 8th church, Jerusalem of Old, in the Creation, as the letter to the church is Ephesus, etc.). Simple, I said. Tomorrow could be called Friday (after Venus, Fria in German). The last day of the school week. The last day of the work week (weekend invented @ 1925, per an intro to a reprint of a book of Chesterton), in some ecclesiastical calendars it is a day to remember a particular ‘saint’. Community-wise, see ‘weekend’ or perhaps a community is having its yearly town holiday? Tomorrow is, in a new calendar, which is a schedule for a society, as a work/school/church/community schedule is a man’s schedule, ThyatiraYUMM!, or just Thyatira. (Days were retuned in a way at the Ascension, as seen in the change in the order of the attributes of Jesus at Ascension, pictured in Rev. 5:12 (before) vs. 7:12 (after) but that is a long exegesis and application.

A joyous Thyatira to you! ‘Eat it’/YUMM (yom) and ponder the lessons and what to do in our situation that we learn from the kingdom phase of humanity’s childhood, a 4th Day write large, from Genesis 1.

I know this seems odd. Luther seemed odd, so did Cromwell, and the other English, so did Gregory VII, the French revolutionaries, and Lenin and the others. I could be a crackpot—surely I am, there’s no ‘could’ to it, but I think, following far better ones than I, that I have helped ask the question that will lead to the imperative. As Gertrude Stein is said to have asked on her death bed: ‘What’s the answer?’ Receiving none, she then asked: ‘All right then, what is the question?’

There are 4 consonants in the first word in the Bible, the first being Beth, which they say means ‘house,’ so, if the first of a sequence is an imperative, ‘beth’ could mean…make a house, come into the house…? The next 3 make a suggestion of a liturgy.

Were we to emphasize a renewal of the covenant, and the Lord's Supper, with an ORDER, that is commissioning, such as Matt. 28, at the end, that would be a start. Without the imperative, there is nothing. An assignment, then. Read Chapter 5 of Clint Gardner's 'Beyond Belief' in which he limns each of the revolutions of the West, with the appropriate imperative for each, and the subsequent forms of speech, and tell us what the imperative is for this new era dawning. I've proposed several good ones.
